Awesome book!! 10 Checkered Flags!!!!
Can't I give this more than 5 stars??I do not like to give away too much about a book in a review because I think it is important to have the majority of a story be a surprise.Make no mistake; Zander & Getty will positively knock your socks off!!! This book was so amazing! I did not think there was any way I could love Zander Donovan as much as I love my other favorite K. Bromberg men, Hawkin and Colton, but there it is…………. I most definitely DO. I unabashedly adore everything about Zander and I don’t think I ever stood a chance not to. And Getty, OMG she is perfect for Zander in every way imaginable. She is one of my favorite heroines EVER!From the get go, this book will grab you, draw you in and continuously play with your emotions throughout. It is that good! The characters are all so well developed you will be invested in no time! There are so many wonderful lines in this book and I will never forget them. It’s a rare thing to come away from a romance and actually think, wow, that really was some incredible advice. I need to remember that.So my takeaways from this phenomenal book that I would actually give as advice to my own children:“Just jump!”“Love. Love fiercely. Love purely............"“Have patience. But not too much. When there’s something you want, go after it. But if there’s something worth your while you want bad enough, be patient.”" Convince her she’s your water.”Thanks for reminding me of all these things Kristy!!If you love the Driven series, you will love Zander’s story. So sit back, put your feet up and enjoy the ride!!!I have read this whole series and have not been disappointed yet! Praise for K. Bromberg’s Driven series!!!!!!

slow start but a good finish to this series
After watching Zander grow in the original Driven series, I was both looking forward to and putting off reading his book. The "next generation" books could go either way, and I wasn't sure if I was ready to open that door. Luckily, the author didn't disappoint and gave a good future to a boy with such a tragic past. Zander and Getty's initial interaction is amusing since they both believe they're staying in this fixer-upper house alone. After they settle in, their attraction grows and eventually so does their connection. As a reader, it made the first part of this book a little slow and hard to speed through while they found their footing. Getty is running from her past and building a new life for herself under the radar of her father and ex-husband. She's determined to control her own path and no longer save face for her family name. Zander is running from his past and the out of control spiral he finds himself in. On this secluded little island, both characters are making strides to better themselves and in the process, each other. Out of the three post Colton and Rylee books that are labeled as stand alones, Down Shift would be the most likely to get a new reader to start the original Driven Series. The author gave enough of Zander's back story to still allow a new reader to go in blind and enjoy this installment, without boring readers who were up to date with the series. Down Shift is told in first person Dual POV, and has a HEA, even though it felt a little rushed at the end. I'd give this a 4.5 as I wanted to see more steam (especially at the end), wanted to feel that connection a little sooner, and wanted the pace to pick up a bit. Overall, a good ending to the Driven series I've followed for years.

Another fabulous read! Love K Bromberg!!
I can’t say how intrigued I was to read Zander’s adult story. Having learned all that we learn so early in the series and then fast forward 15 years and holy smokes! Zander is a grown man!I love his relationship with Colton and Rylee. From the very beginning all the way through this book. They epitomize what a family is and in the same breath what it isn’t.It was hard to read Zander struggling with old demons that shouldn’t have ever been brought back out but then again, if they weren’t, he never would’ve known how his mother really felt and what she was going through in the end. He needed that. He needed to hear from her and I’m so glad that he did.Love love love Colton. It was through his love of Zander that he was able to take a step back and make Zander grow up or get out. I admire that about him.Talk about fate intervening. Zander and Getty roommates?! And what a love story. I loved how neither one of them liked the other for a good bit of the story. I like the harder won stories. And poor Getty and all of her horrible horrible demons. No one should EVER have to go through anything even close to that. I’ll be able to sleep a little better tonight knowing her demons are gone. Never to be heard from again.Fabulous book! Fabulous series! Fabulous author!!

Taking a Leap
Zander, all grown up, but still struggling with coming to terms about his biological mothers death. Furious with his adoptive parents Colton and Rylee Donavan. Zander, leaves town not telling anyone where he is going to try and figure his life out. Without racing, friends and family he ends up on an island to seek solitude.Getty, young woman running from her life of control and being controlled by her father and husband. Hidden in this small island town working to pay her way and try to figure out her next step before being found.Zander and Getty, ends up sharing the same house. While running from everything and everyone in their past, they discover they can't run from the present nor the future... will Getty and Zander, take a chance and JUMP?I have read all Bromberg's, books and was extremely excited about the release of this book, but I was disappointed in the dialogue...this book fell flat and dragged for me and I found myself skimming through the chapters and it still took me a week to get through it. 😞 I still adore the author and will continue to buy her books

Good story shame about the ending!
Have enjoyed all the Driven books Colton and Rylee the first book being my favourite, but it was good to catch up in this book with their adopted son Zander who is now all grown-up and an Indy racer in his own right. Zander is sent a box of memories from a relative that is now dead and this brings back long buried memories of his mother's death. Spiralling out of control and upsetting everyone he leaves to get his head straight; fortunately he end up accidentally sharing a house with Getty who has problems of her own and they begin to heal each other.Although I enjoyed the story there were a few things that my logical mind couldn't accept, one being that Getty didn't even mention getting her trust funds back from her father or any divorce settlement from her very rich husband - really as if!!!Furthermore the fact that Zander appeared to now be approximately 28, would Colton be a little old to still be racing? Would have liked to know a bit more of their life now. On the whole though I enjoyed the read but my pet hate is a short epilogue and this was very short. They were together- the end really. Would have liked more about Getty settling into Zander' s life etc.and how her career went, guess I'm getting too picky.

Just Jump ...
Zander, Zander, Zander ..... Sigh ..... Swoon .....He grew up to be the man I always expected him to be with a Dad like Colton. This is the one book from the Driven series I couldn't wait to read, and it didn't disappoint. We first met Zander in Driven, as a broken, silent and traumatised little seven year old boy.Well he's come along way since then, he's grown in to beautiful sexy hot man ... much like his Dad.With his career as racing car driver hitting its peak, he still as issues to be dealt with from the first seven years of his live. And just like it all comes tumbling down !He seeks solitude to work through his problems and this is where he meets Getty, she's has her own issues she's running away from. Her background is just as traumatizing.Loved Getty's strength, a wonderful character. The chemistry is instant between these two and builds into some super hot sex scenes !I don't want to say anymore about the story, that you need to discover yourself. This is a book is about two broken (in different ways) people who somehow find trust and friendship with one another and eventually ' just jump' in to helping each other to heal.It a beautiful emotional book and as always with Kristy Bromberg it's beautiful written. If this is the last book we get from this series .... Well, all I can say is It finished on a high. Superb !5*****

I race you Zander!
I have been looking forward to this book for such a long time and as usual Kristy didn't disappoint. I was in love with Zander form the first page and we got more Colton too. I love the father side of Colton, that was just hot.The minute Zander and Getty meet... loved it! Brilliant! I could just feel Zanders confident alpha maleness oozing off him from the start. Well lets look at his role model, a chip off the old block!I think I pretty much worked out Getty's story right from the start, it wasn't really a secret, it was heart breaking. It obviously stood in the way of her an Zander getting together.I loved the characters and I really cared for their well being, wanting them both to find their happily ever after. Zander was dealing with his own personal hell and flashbacks to the horrifying death of his mother. I was just waiting for that to come crashing down. The big reveal! There were some scenes which just made me laugh out loud, these two really had a connection on a deeper level. Loved loved loved it. Also in true Kristy fashion there were some super hot scenes too, you could just feel the sexual tension between the two smouldering away for a while, which made it all the more hotter when they finally did get their act togetherThis book is kind of anti climatic now as the Driven series has probably gone full circle. This was a helluva book to finish with.Bravo Kristy, looking forward to your next book and something away from Driven (although I will miss Carlton).

5 Just Jump Stars
The meaning of Down Shift is change to a lower gear in a motor vehicle or bicycle. You know when you read a book and it leaves you breathless and your tummy feels like it's in knots?!? That's exactly what Down Shift did to me, right from the first page. The prologue pulls some tough punches. Zander has made a lot of mistakes, he has pushed Colton & Rylee his parents away, his brothers, lost his team & his car. And it all comes to a head when he is confronted by his dad who gives him an ultimatum "Take the time Zee. Fix what you need to fix. Deal with whatever s*** you need to deal with. Let someone in instead of shutting everyone out. Use the time to make you right. Don't come back until you are."Zander hasn't had the easiest life and he hasn't really dealt with any of his demons. He has lost his place on the team, the one thing that gives him the adrenaline he craves everyday. So he leaves to go and stay at a friends place to fix his mistakes & rebuild his life. It's here that he meets the beautiful, brown eyed broken Getty. She is running, trying to start over in life after years of being controlled by her father and ex husband. The chemistry between them was intense as they pushed each other's buttons and boundaries. But they were supposed to be finding out who they are, fixing their mistakes, and Getty was determined to start a fresh new life. They are each a complication in each other's lives. Zander doesn't need Getty getting into his thoughts. But she is slowly starting to soften his hard heart."You complicate things, Getty. Because there is something about you that continually reminds me why I came here."You could feel the attraction between them, could hear the thump thump of their hearts every time they came close to giving into their desire."Right now every damn part of me wants to kiss you again. Kiss you till we can't breathe, then lay you down on my bed and show you what it's like to feel that kind of worship."When things from their past start to collide with their future, they have to take a step back and figure out what it is they want. Zander has to go back and make things right with his family and his team. Getty has to try and stand on her own two feet without Zander, continue to grow with confidence."Even if you gave me a hundred reasons why we shouldn't be together, Getty, I'd still look for that one reason to fight like hell for you. Remember that."Zander and Getty were two broken souls, trying to find who they were in the world. There were many times I had tears streaming down my face & my heart broke for them both. For everything they had been through & for what life continued to throw at them. When Kirsty Bromberg writes a book you better be prepared for all the feels & emotions that she will pull from you. She will make you cry, you will get angry, there will be a time or two you want to throw your kindle out the window. But she will also make you fall in love, and not the ordinary kind of love, but the EPIC kind. Because that's what Getty & Zander had, an epic love. It only comes along once in a life time, but when he does you grab it And.Never.Let.Go!Down Shift is hands down one of the best books I've read in 2016 & if I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Another fab book from K. Bromsberg
Lovely light hearted romance with 2 characters brought together by chance. They slowly get to know each other and work on there problems they both have which made them want to escape to the island. She helps him face some demons and he makes her believe she is a good person. It was a nice read. Not to heavy with a good story line and in my eyes this author cant do alot wrong. She writes stories i real;y enjoy and get to know the characters and lost in the plot so to speak. Trouble is she does not write loads of books but the ones she does are fantastic. Read this spin off from the driven series. If you liked that this is great to. No hesitation in ordering and paying for more books by K Bromsberg.1.30 am the best authors always keep me up late!!!!!!!!
