Pump works like a charm, I have had it for almost a month plus, and have not cleaned up, and water is crystal clear. Cleaning process could be better, the waterflow continues for both sides, but it is not a big deal. Highly recommended to Pond owners of 1000 - 2000 Gallons.

I bought this unit for my 400 gallon (approx) pond. I have two really large Koi fish in it. I have tried many different things to get the water to become clear but nothing seemed to work. Until now. I received the unit today and had it hooked up in less than 30 minutes - it may take a little longer for someone else with different size hoses, but I am running 1" hoses all the way with a 2200 GPH pump. I am really satisfied with this unit even with the $125 price tag, it seems worth it in today's world of super high prices on EVERYTHING. I dont normally recommend alot of items but I can honestly recommend this pond filter unit.

I bought one and after a while I bought two more, because I was happy with it. But sadly, one of them has a crack close to the UV lamp assembly, causing leakage.

After using the 2700 Gal filter model for a week my 1200 gallon pond became very murky. When I tried to back flush the filter the dirty water came out of both the "Drain Outlet" and the "Front Water Outlet". So I had to remove the "Front Water Outlet" adapter and cap it ; when I was done back-flushing it I had to replace the Cap on the "Front Water Outlet" with its previous adapter, and re-cap the "Drain Outlet", what a waste of time... -Reasons to buy: None -Reasons to avoid: Run/Clean Knob doesn't work. In any mode water comes out from front and back outlets Back-flush is time consuming, requires swapping cap and adapters with front and back water outlets. The threads on the Inlet/Outlet adapter nuts are not full threads, very flimsy, prone to cross threading and leaking water. Filter media, bio balls and UV don't provide any filtration. Mediocre owner's manual.

Took a couple of extra days, but our 1000 gallon pond is now able to see our fish! Not crystal clear, but it will be once we do a water change. We’re just so happy to see our koi and goldfish!! Not that hard to clean media either!!

This is a great filter. I have a smaller pond but it is heavily stocked so I typically get a larger filter than suggested. My pond was very murky from the winter weather and leaves...it completely cleared up in 2 days time. I love having the UV light built in. I wish there was a link to the pad refills somewhere. (granted those can be washed and reused for a while before replacing them).

I have had this working for a couple of week. When we tried to back flush it and we couldn't leave the discharge hose on because the water keeps pumping through the discharge. So to clean we have to take off the cap, put on the hose, clean and then take off the hose and put on the cap. A real pain. Was supposed to be much easier. I am sad I got this since it doesn't work as advertised.NeelyUpdating: we ended up putting a valve on each side of the discharge (back to pond and waste). I now shut off the pump feeding the filter, turn the ball valve to the pond return closed, turn the dial on top to clean, turn the crank for 30 seconds or so, open the valve on the discharge hose and then turn the pump back on while I continue to turn the crank until the discharge water clears up. Then shut off the pump, close the discharge hose valve, open the return to pond valve, turn the dial on top to run and turn the pump back in. Setting it up was a tremendous pain. We also have it in a patio deck box for ease of access and to hide the ugly. However, I can easily clean off the filter in 5 minutes or less and not get nasty. It works.
