Berard 54177 French Olive-Wood Handcrafted Round Cutting Board

I absolutely love this cutting board the olive wood is stunning and it completely elevates the look of my kitchen counter top! I didn’t check the dimensions and it’s a bit smaller than I expected for the price , but it’s really great quality wood and it’s truly beautiful.

I bought this cutting board because of it's claim that it's made from one solid, continuous piece of wood. So there would be no adhesives used in the making of it.Definitely not so. It looks like any other cutting board with strips of wood put together!

This is not a very large cutting board, but it is great for smaller tasks. The wood is very hard. It is not necessary for the board to be thicker. It is lightweight and easy to quickly rinse, stand in the drainer, and if desired, dry off. Easy maintenance. Olive wood is very special. I do rub organic coconut oil (does not rancidify readily) on it now and then, and let it sit out in the warmth of the sun to absorb. The wood is so beautiful it makes me happy every time my glance falls on it. You want things like that around you. "A thing of beauty is a joy forever."

I was expecting to receive a beautiful olive-wood cutting board, that was made in Tunisia, with a satin finish that is oiled and waxed, like it says in its description. The cutting board that I received has the Berard name engraved on it, and is round, and is the correct size. Everything else is different from the description. The one that I received is made in Albania! It did not have a satin finish. It was without any oil or wax. It was very dry and very rough to the touch. There was no beauty to it at all. In fact it was quite ugly in appearance, with a large, dark smudge or stain that couldn't be removed and looked like mold.If the making of the cutting board is now being outsourced to Albania, that should be mentioned in its description, and if the cutting board is now being left unfinished and very rough to the touch, that should also be mentioned. I would have never purchased it if I had been made aware of those very important changes. The quality control is certainly missing in this Albanian made product! I replaced it with a cutting board made in the USA!

This board was so disappointing, if I could give it zero stars I would. First, the board is not made from one piece of wood as described. The board came today and it's clearly multiple pieces of wood glued together. And the board surface itself is not even flat! There are divots and grooves that would need to be sanded down to make it even. Also, the wood itself has several dirty areas that would need to be totally sanded down to get rid of, overall it's so disappointing. Clearly not well made or worth the money. But hey, if you want a dirty, low quality wood board that was glued together and is not even flat for $30, look no further. I however, am returning this and getting my money back so I can spend it on something of quality.

a very small board for presenting cheese, etc. It is quite beautiful, and its thinness makes it especially appealing. Pretty expensive, but the quality and simplicity make it worthwhile

I really wanted to like this board. I have other Berard pieces that I enjoy using. The olive wood is beautiful but the board is too small for most uses. Although you can see the dimensions online, it also has a sloped edge which reduces the amount of flat, useable space. If you need a really small beautiful board, this one’s for you! But I returned mine. If they made it in a larger size, I would definitely order it.

Incredibly nice round board, the olive-wood shows the style. Diameter (9") is very exact - it's snap fitting into the glass cover of the cheese dome (the bottom is also glass - that's why I bought this board). It's not the single piece of wood but engineered, manually cut and glued from pieces that is also good (less probability of crack). A little pricey? Maybe, if compared to walnut or acacia. But beauty costs something, doesn't it?
