I brought this for my son and this is the first time I have not had to encourage him to read the book!! He finished it in 3 days, rather than the usual 3 weeks+

Suitable for up to 13 years I think
Our nephew said it was OK, quite good, quite interesting. He's 14 but quite a young 14.

Made a reluctant reader read!
When I say my son was a reluctant reader , I literally mean he wouldn't EVER read for pleasure other than a couple of football fact books. He never experienced the joy of being immersed in a story until I bought him this book. He raced through it and immediately asked for the next one. I don't know what Paul Orton has, but he's definitely got something!

ok
Wasn’t an awful book book - had a story line and my son really enjoyed it. Not enough to keep an adult interested but at the same time I wasn’t who it was targeted at.

Great pre-teen/teen book
My son has Autism and although he's high functioning, imagination isn't a strong point for him, being he is very literal. I.e. you say it's raining cats and dogs, he used to think it was raining cats and dogs. Anyway, I searched teen books as he had to do a school project/report on a book, either a book of choice or a school issued one, that may not be of interest. After reading the reviews of this and due to its content/story line, I hoped It'd gain his attention somewhat, so I purchased it and I'm so glad I did. He absolutely loved this book. His birthday is in a few days and he even asked for the 2 follow on books of this story, as part of his gifts. Therefore I had to oblige by ordering them.

Gripping read!
Bought for my 12 year old son, who while he still enjoys David Walliams books, wanted something a bit more grown up.This did it. Great story line, great characters and I’m really enjoying reading it with him.Good story that’s relatable for this age group

Great mid-grade thriller!
4 full military stars! Just as 13 year-old Ryan hacks through the British Military Defense firewall, soldiers burst into his home and wisk him away to a remote and unfamiliar group of buildings. What follows is unending plot twists, treachery and thrilling action. The ranking military officer, Colonel Keller, despises Ryan from the start and has a razor-thin trigger for anger and revenge. He does his best to get Ryan expelled from what turns out to be an elite military training facility for the world's best and brightest young people. After one of Ryan's roommates, Lee, is kidnapped in the middle of the night, Ryan is instructed by Lee's kidnappers to steal a top secret file, transfer it to a zip drive and deliver it to the front gate of the school by 9pm that very evening or his friend will be killed! Does Ryan manage to save Lee against all odds or does the ruthless Colonel finally manage to catch Ryan in the act and have him expelled? Or do Lee's kidnappers have something more evil in mind for Ryan? Read this fast, yet enjoyable, book to discover the youngsters' fate!

Review from my 12 year-old son
I liked the book because there was a lot of action and suspense. I also ordered books two and three that I also enjoyed. I personally prefered the second book, Wild Fury, but I enjoyed all of the others just as much.I'll finish this review quickly so I can go ask my parents to order me the fourth one.

Amazing 👏
I couldn't stop reading and I finished it in a day. Great plot twists and it keeps the reader with protagonist. You never know what's going to happen!

Teen & YA thriller older readers will enjoy too
Is it strange that I enjoyed a thriller for boys aged 13-15? No, because Ryan Jacobs offers us enough excitement, action, suspense, and rebelliousness to like him and cheer for him throughout the entire book. A thriller about a 13-year-old boy wunderkind hacker will leave even older readers with a good feeling and interest to look for another book in the series.Bernard Jan

This got me hooked immediately!
I was looking for fiction with a young teen boy as a protagonist, and tried several suggestions. This was the only one I decided to buy. Not only is the plot interesting, but the main character and the setting stand apart from the typical "good" underdog boy hero in a welcoming school environment.
