It fits perfectly

The mag ring is necessary to be able to use the magnetic lens cover. The ring itself is extremely low profile and causes no vignetting, it’s barely visible. The magnetic lens cover cover attaches with a snap and is secure, I used it for a week on trails, city walks, in and out of vehicles and never felt like it would dislodge. Really satisfied.

The Hayward filters are a funny animal. Any minor defects or stretching in the o-ring results in a slight tilting of the top. No big deal right? I just thought I was really bad at centering it, but it turns out, it was a o-ring issue. Don't wait until its too late to replace it like I did! At the peak of the pool season, a giant, high pressure stream shot out of the o-ring! Had to take the whole pool offline for a week, which has its own serious issues when water is not circulating. When I pulled out the old o-ring, it didn't look that bad, but some minor defect was all it took. When I replaced it, the filter it works perfectly and the top is centered. If you are starting to see these symptoms, its time to replace the o-ring.

The Hayward o-ring is the right size for my filter, however, I do not have to replace the ring yet, so I really can't give a review, other than it came quickly and the price was great. One review said he replaces his ring often, are you putting moisture onto your ring when needed?

This is the second time I buy this. The first one I bought almost 5 years ago, and replaced it "just in case". They're cheap enough that you should probably replace them before they fail. I live in Arizona, so that gives you and idea of the abuse these o-rings can take: lots of heat, lots of pressure, and even below-freezing temps on occasion in the winter. This one did not arrive in OEM packaging, but in a plain shipping envelope with no wrapping or documentation of any kind. It looks like OEM and should hopefully last just as long, but it sells for a very reasonable price. Suggest you clean out the filter housing with plain water, a small toothbrush, and plenty of paper towels to ensure you get out all the dirt and contaminants, and old lube. While these o-rings last a few years, it's a good idea to clean them very well and re-lube them about once or twice a year to ensure optimal pump and filter operation. Suggest you use disposable glove(s) to lube it up with Hayward's Jack's Multilube (look it up on Amazon...it's a great product). It'll last a long time, just take care of it with good, and regular lubing.

Worth the cost to provide great performance.

Fit my Haywood filter head perfectly. Tight fit. I lubricated it with silicon jelly. No leaks
