Originally gave a bad reviews. Now I understand it and love it.
New Review:Small, cute design, serves it purposes in the Los Angeles area.I was struggling with making this work, as it would stop and I could not turn it back on. They should mention this in the manual and on the product page, but this unit has a temperature sensor that will makes the unit stop once it reaches the desired temperature, saving energy. Every time you turn the AC on or OFF, it will stop for 3 minutes, to help give longevity to the condenser as well, which I am sure is a good thing. In COOLING MODE, after you reach the desired temperature, it will not turn on again for at least the 3 minutes to save the condenser longevity, and until the temperature rises again. You can either set the temperature lower, or change to DRY MODE to make it run, but remember the DRY MODE is the DEHUMIDIFIER mode, which will create more water. The unit also has the FAN mode, which will only blow the air inside the room. The unit is very symmetrical and small, like all others, it has the standard large hose blowing air outside (I wish they would make a smaller one and sell separately), very clean, and it is obviously noisy, but not like many other units out there.I use for my bedroom, in Los Angeles, and it is honestly enough to cool it very well and VERY quickly. It evaporates the water automatically, so no need to dump it. BUT REMEMBER, I live in Los Angeles, which is not too humid.Over all, I was worried about this, but so far, I love it, really do. It seems to have decent quality, so I hope it lasts for a long time! I will probably only use it for about 1 month out the year and put it away, but so far, I am loving it.Original Review:First of all. This is pretty small, beautiful, but the bad reviews are true.Unit turns off completely every 5 to 10 minutes. Will not turn on again for 20 or 30, no matter what you do. You can plug it off and back on, reset, press all buttons. The compressor will not work again for 20 to 30 minutes. It only works when it wants. It will work for 5 to 10 min, then turn off and will not turn on again for another 30 minutes or so... it varies. Terrible.FAN and DEHUMIDIFIER will work, but NOT the cooling AC. Seems like it is by design. I did not believe it, so I purchased it... but not YOU BELIEVE ME, the 10,000 BTU works this way. Dont make the same mistake I made, dont even try it.

Does not work properly
*** UPDATE- The seller refunded 20% of my order for the issues, They did offer to return the item, I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it***This is for a 600 sq ft room, I bought it for a 200 sq ft room, it is a rectangle room so should have been able to cool it nicely. It may lower the temperature in the room a very small amount but not enough to notice, this is with running it for hours. The only reason I gave it two stars is that it looks nice.

Great Customer Service
I got this unit for a small (10x10) room I built in my garage for tool storage and such. I'm in Texas and the summer heat is brutal on tools and equipment (and me). There are no windows in there so the only option was either a split duct or one of these. I opted for one of these due to price and ease of installation. I cut a 6" hole through to the outside and got a cover with screen for the outside (see photo). I also decided to get a semi-insulated dryer hose for the exhaust to help cut down on the heat loss in the room...more on that in a minute. I also had a previous hole for the condensate drain from an old dehumidifier that I used that also goes out to the backside of my garage.First unit I received was blowing great in March/April, but gradually more like medium cool to lukewarm humid air by June. Customer service was great when I contacted them. Seemed from my previous window unit a/c experience that this might mean the compressor was going bad or there was a leak somewhere. I wasn't expecting 50 degree air coming out in the summer, but I thought it should be better than 75 degrees. Outside ambient temp has been in the mid 90's here.I continued to measure the air temp multiple times and it was steadily getting warmer. So they decided to just send me a new unit. Amazing. Got the new unit and was back up and running at fairly normals temps right away. I did add an outer sleeve from an old insulated 6" flex duct I had and really sealed up the exhaust with aluminum tape to try to minimize the amount of heat that this thing puts off. The unit itself is quite warm to the touch and I understand that this is typical of these types of units. Consumer Reports does not have nice things to say about portable units for this reason. But again this was the only real option for me.Anyway, customer service was excellent....and you can't often say that these days. We'll see how this new replacement works out.

Does its job, nothing special. Isn't quiet.
It's an air conditioner, so it provides cool air. it's a less than 1-ton unit so if you're expecting it to cool a massive room then you don't understand AC sizes or haven't done enough research. This thing is loud, and not as quiet as they make it sound. Also it claims to have extra features like a "swing" feature, however the blades are manual only so this is misleading. It only has two speeds, low and high. I wish it was quieter, I have certainly had other AC's that are quieter and can perform just as well. Yes it's not going to be whisper quiet, because there is a compressor after all, but this thing KICK'S on and hums. The "low" speed fan feels more like a high speed on my normal oscillating room fan.For the price I expected more for what this offers and what was advertised; I would have expected to pay about $100 less for what I received. But it works, and I guess I can't complain too much during a hot summer. It is compact which is a plus.
