Q: I take it this will be a "No" but does this mat allow for shoes on?

We recommend that you use this yoga mat barefoot or with yoga socks, but do not wear shoes, since the shoes are rather hard on the material of yoga mats and can tear the mat. That's the manufacturer's answer

Q: Does this mat transfer color, or stain clothes or shoes that touch it?

We don't use this as a yoga mat. We got it when our granddaughter was starting to crawl and play on the floor. We have hard surface flooring and wanted some padding for her. She's walking now but still mostly plays in that area so we've left it down. I've never seen where it's left a mark or stain on clothing, shoes, toys or the floor. It's been walked on with wet shoes without a problem. The edges have not worn. We have had a good experience with this product.

Q: Does the mat lay flat when unrolled or do the ends curl up?

I quite honestly don't remember it being a problem, it may have required some heavy books or whatever on the corners or elsewhere until it got acclimated. I've had it on the floor constantly for about 1 1/2 years and it is perfectly flat. No problems with it at all.
