Incredible!!
This thing is absolutely fantastic!! My 10 year old son and I had a good time assembling it (only 2 burns from the soldering iron!). It is tricky, but great for learning and doesn't take so long that it gets boring. The instructions are really thoughtful, and everything fit together perfectly. The case is super well made and it is nice that in addition to soldering there is also some construction. They even included extra screws. The only tiny glitch is the screws that hold the battery back on make the batteries fall out sometimes. But otherwise bravo on the design! And THEN!! IT PLAYS. I was worried he would think it was boring to play old style games but it has kept everyone in the family entertained all day. Why did people ever stop playing Tetris!? The effects are amazing for something so simple, music included, even high scores. I don't usually write reviews, but I am just so happy with this. Thank you for giving us this experience!!

Simple but fun
This was a fun little project as a newbie to soldering. It was easy enough and really didn’t require helping hands or magnification but it wouldn’t hurt either.I wish the surface mount chip wasn’t pre soldered as that took away some of the fun and challenge.Total time was about an hour and the included instructions were good enough. They provide an email address to request a full PDF but two days later and still no response.Make sure you have flux handy as it helps make soldering easier. It also helps to have the flux and some desoldering wick for the inevitable mistake. Take your time and try to only solder one leg/pin at a time to make undoing a component for whatever reason easier and faster. The biggest issue I had was alignment and gravity working against me as components tried to fall away from the board since most of the solders are going to be done upside down.In the end this was a fun project and the games are pretty neat too.

The instructions need to be better, but if you've done kits like this before, you can figure it out.
My grandson is doing this kit for his electric project in 4H.The kit comes with everything you need. There are some very small solder joints that need to be made, so it's not a kit for beginners. As long as you're careful and use the right soldering iron, you'll be able to put it together in less than four hours. It was very satisfying to see the look on his face when he got done with all the soldering, put in some batteries, and turned it on. Everything worked just as expected and it's actually a fun little game. We're both very glad we picked this as his project this year.

Fun project.
This was a fun project to do. Not too difficult but not too easy either. I couldn't figure out some of the games, though. Perhaps you could include a sheet with a description of the games and brief instructions on how to play them.

Fun project backed up with exemplary customer service!
After finishing assembly, I had a couple lines on the display that didn't work. I emailed the company directly, past the return window, on a Friday evening. Saturday morning I had a reply. A real reply, not a form letter thing, but an actual reply from a person addressing my issue, advising me to check 2 solder joints. Bingo! I am a little new to soldering SMD components and I, fearful of bridging a connection, used too little solder on those 2 joints and had no continuity. Game works perfectly now and I will purchase other projects from Vogurtime due to the amazing customer service! There is not that much soldering to do with this project. An electrolytic capacitor, a couple dot matrix displays, a few buttons and one SMD chip. Game can be powered by USB or 3 aaa batteries. I've only really played Tetris on this but it works well. It has sound but its basic beeps, which is all you really need for these kind of games. If I had this project to do over again, I would consider leaving the paper cover on the acrylic on the interior side of the back and sides. It might look better that way, and if it doesn't, you can always remove the paper later. All in all, a fun project you can complete in an hour or two and then you have a gadget to play with. A lot of these soldering kits have you make something pointless just for the practice. With this kit, and their piano one, you get the practice and afterwards you have a toy that offers some entertainment value and then looks cool on the shelf. Recommended item, recommended seller, happy customer.

Doesn’t work
This was bought as a gift, along with three very beginning kits for my grandson, who is learning to solder with his dad. Unfortunately, it didn’t work when it was all put together. It’s past the return window. Very disappointing.

Great little project!
Just completed this kit with my 12 y.o. son. He picked up the soldering skills quickly, but it would have been difficult if I didn’t already know how. Instructions have some gaps but it’s not too hard to figure out. Made a neat little game!
