It’s a higher watt version of what I already have on another landscape area. I like that the control panel is behind a door and out of direct sunlight. The sensor is another plus with lighting options. It’s substantial at 36 lbs so you may need help mounting it.

The good news is this thing is built like a tank. I don't know what goes into a transformer, but I have to assume it's full of lead blocks. It's seriously heavy and well built. I think it will last a long time. The packaging was great too so it arrived without a nick or ding. It's very intuitive to set up the timer so that's all great too. Now for the not so great part...For some reason they designed this with the wire connectors on the back. That means to hook it up to your landscape wires you have to take the unit off the wall to get to the screws. Stupid design! If the terminal screws were on the front it would be easy to connect the wires. My other complaint is the numbers for setting up the timer are very small. I could not read them and had to take a picture so I could enlarge the image to read the numbers. Granted I'm an old guy that uses reading glasses (which I don't carry on me when working outside) so if your eyes are still perfect this shouldn't be a problem for you. However, it's still a stupid design not to make the controls easier to see.Overall I'm happy with this transformer! The two complaints are short-term, but the positives will remain for the life of this transformer so they outweigh the short-term inconveniences.

Like everything about this transformer with one exception. Installation instructions - specifically instructions to guide one with setting clock and timing for on and off, how many hours, etc. are sadly lacking and leave too much to the customer to figure out. Fortunately having been raised by an electrician father (God rest his soul) and knowing a little about that and the way a lot of things work technically these days my German husband (who doesn't speak English) managed to get it up and running. Clock setting is definitely not for weak fingers and hands or those short on patience! Something more than a small diagram on the box it came in to identify operational areas, etc., would have helped immensely, but now that it's working we're pleased with it. Next challenge with it will be adjusting the times when we get around to longer days and shorter nights in the spring! If it hadn't been for the shortcomings in readily understandable set up/operational instructions we'd have added the 5th star.

It was easy to setup and easy to program. It is quite heavy, but I expected that due to it being 600W. I set it to turn on at dusk based on the light sensor and turn off at 10:30pm, and that was quite easy to program and the function works as it should.

In all fairness I can't review this item, because it was too large for our in ground electrical box...so we had to return it. It was a great price and was the voltage we needed, but boy was it ever large. The one we had before was much smaller, so I just assumed the same wattage would be the same size...wrong, lol. If you have a limited space for the transformer, then you had better measure before ordering. It looked like a high quality product, however.

Please save yourself money and the time. Transformer stopped working properly after not even 6 months so I contacted their customer service. They are more then happy to resolve your problem on account of your expenses. They wanted me to send it to their diagnostic center in Texas and they would find out what is wrong....I was like, ok...BUT!!! They didn't provide shipping label. After I ask for one. They said it would need to by paid by me and they don't guarantee for any damages by shipping company. The transfomer is heavy as hell and shipping would cost probably same as new transformer. No thank you. Let say never going to buy anything from them and strongly recommend everyone else the same.

We bought this to replace a similiar 600 watt transformer that quit working afte several years. This one seems more heavy duty that the previous one and the connections are basically the same.The unit is what I expected though it seem heavier than the one it replaced. Hopefully this one will last longer.
