Dyson V11 Outsize Origin+ Cordless Vacuum with Tools, Iron Gray

We could have purchased our Dyson cleaner locally, but we could only find the less expensive models. We wanted something that would last for years, and after doing a lot of research, we decided to purchase this vacuum. I'm impressed with the suction power on all options. We have small rugs at our entry doors that were hard to clean with our old vacuum. The new Dyson picked up the grass and dirt completely! I can't wait to try it on our furniture. I also love the way it stores on its own hanger to charge. It's lightweight, and easy to use. I read reviews about users having to hold the power button continuously, but I personally don't find this a problem. I'm not a strong person, and I don't have a lot of grip strength. The trigger works great. I'm really happy with this purchase!

Has amazing suction power. No back and forth just a forward motion picks up everything. Cleans up hair without tangling on the roller brush. Excellent battery life. Also extra battery pack is a great perk of purchase. The outsized head is perfect for larger rooms.

DO NOT BUY from amazon or a dyson product. This is registered to someone in china , even though it has a US address. Long story short, bought back in February and machine gave out. Called dyson to get warranty work done but can’t because it’s register to someone in china. They can’t or wont change the name to get the machine fixed. DO NOT BUY!! You’ve been warned.

This vacuum was purchased to clean hardwood floors and rugs. This product is powerful, suctions well but very loud in use . I kept it just because other Dyson vacuums were not as good in suction

[edit]After a year, the gasket inside the collection bin came loose. That renders the whole machine useless. I have talked to Dyson several times, now, and they can’t seem to replace it. The part is unavailable. I’ve got a $1000 broken toy that apparently never will be repaired or replaced. What a shame. This was the best vacuum I’ve used in my life, and I was so happy to have it. But Dyson’s Achilles heel is their customer service, which basically tells you “sorry. Too bad. Better luck next time.”It’s a wonderful machine when it works. It’s a broken toy when it doesn’t. It’s a waste of $1000. [/edit]Original post:First of all, I bought this Dyson Outsize vacuum with 2 batteries, 2 chargers, and about a dozen attachments, directly from Dyson. I did not use the retailers selling through Amazon because of reviews which said they had a hard time getting warranty validated when using other dealers. I stuck with the manufacturer, and I’m glad I did. Everything works great!Now: I’ve used countless canister vacuums, upright vacuums, cordless vacs, etc., including the Dyson V8, which has been my main vacuum for 3 years. The V8 was acting up, shutting down during use, even though the battery was full. I decided it was time to upgrade, but I wanted a vacuum that would make me never want to use my old Electrolux canister vacuum again. I decided to try the Outsize. Battery usage is amazing; this thing will run 45 minutes on one battery, and there are two. There are multiple speed settings for power or economy, or a “smart” setting that apparently boosts the power when necessary and cuts the power when there is excess. It really manages well.The capacity of the cylinder to hold what it sucks up is as great as any canister vacuum I’ve used. I can vacuum a 3500 sq ft house without emptying it until I’m done. Also without changing batteries. The vacuum weighs about 9 lbs. with motorized brush attachment. The V8 weighed about 6. So yes, it’s heavier. But it also pulls itself along the carpet, making it feel weightless — something none of my other vacuums can do. They really engineered this thing beautifully.I will never use another vacuum. When this one wears out, I’ll replace it with the same. It has transformed my chores and made vacuuming the easiest thing I do. The trigger is easier and more comfortable than on the V8. The cleaning power is astounding. None of my plug-in vacuums clean as well as this. It’s literally the only vacuum I ever want to use again. Someone said it’s noisy. It’s QUIETER than the V8. If you set it for max power, it will make more noise, but normal power conservation makes this run at a lower speed most of the time, and that’s not very noisy, all things considered.The brush attachments are fantastic. Several are motorized. The largest one is bigger than those on my old Electrolux. Another one for solid floors has a laser that lights up the dust on the floor. I thought, “yeah... right. That little thing is going to make a difference? Give me a break!” Well... I probably don’t have to tell you that it turned out to be a game changer. I love this vacuum!The weakest link in the chain is that of emptying it out. It holds a lot! So be prepared with a deep bag or garbage can to empty it into. Do it outside, upwind. It makes a big cloud of dust. Other than that, this vacuum ranks No.1 in all my years of experience, since the 1950s! It’s just outstanding. Seriously; I wouldn’t own different Dyson, either. Just this one; the Dyson Outsize. I clean up after a menagerie of cats every single day, and this little machine just made my life a lot easier.

I have three Labrador retrievers and I vacuum every day. This is a heavy vacuum, it doesn’t have power surge and it’s hard to push. I had a Dyson stick that was small and I loved it, The motor quit after 10 years and I decided to get another one, I love the cordless feature and it is very easy to empty. But…I would return this if I still had boxes and packing materials. Also, no instruction manual. Simply stated, this is a very expensive vacuum cleaner and it’s not worth what you pay.
