I didn’t use the adhesive so can’t comment. It works great for hanging my hair appliances on, blow dryer, curling iron, blow brush, etc

I drilled it to the wall, and that worked for me
The adhesion was not working for me but when I drilled it, it was perfect. I love this because I was looking for a simple, modern 4-hook coat hanger for my evening robes. It is great.
