Excellent fit for confident footing
I have a narrow foot. These shoes are perfectly sculpted for my shape of foot. When laced up properly these shoes, in a manner of speaking become a part of my foot. This means that when I'm walking or climbing or bouldering I can be very confident with my steps being stable and reliable. I know with many other shoes I'd be a lot more unsure of my footing and worried about slipping or losing my balance or footing. Very fine Italian craftsmanship. My first set I still have and they're over a year old and barely have shown any wear, even though they get a lot of thorough usage. I bought the new pair cuz they are kind of hard to find in my size. They are somewhat expensive but I think even for a cheap guy like me, the price, which is almost double a lot of other shoes, is still certainly worth it. Highly recommend!

Best off trail shoe I've found
This is my third pair of Scarpa Zens. I hike off trail most of the time, I do a lot of bouldering and I usually get my feet wet. So, I am bouldering with wet shoes. No other shoe I've worn - and I've tried many - grips the rock, and my feet, as securely as the Scarpa Zens. I simply can't be as confident in any other shoe.I find I get about a thousand miles out of a pair. Your results may vary, bear in mind when I am hiking it's for several miles off trail through muddy and rocky terrain as well as in stream beds. For trail hiking they would probably go 3x as long. These shoes feel very stiff to the touch and when you first put them on you'll wonder how they can be comfortable but they are so well designed they feel like a second skin, and when you stand on them they feel like they are propelling you forward. I've never experienced that with any other shoe, e.g. Merrill or Adidas. They break in very quickly, but remain stiff to the touch until the seams come apart.A word of warning, they do run a little small. I wear a 12 1/2 - 13 US, the EU equivalent is 47, my Scarpa Zens 47's are snug on my big fat feet. Snug is good. Too small is not good.

Hard wearing long lasting shoe
Shoe is used primarily for hiking and work on the property I manage. This is my second pair of Zen Pro shoes. The last 2 were just the zen model. Both hold up well to the abuse I give them. The pro model gives you a better foot bed than the other pairs. Even though the soles are different I have not noticed any traction benefits between the two.

Outstanding trail shoe
This hiking shoe is one of the best I have ever owned. The outer sole is tough and stiff at first but after a brief break in period flexes just right. It is comfortable and fits snug but is also with a tough outersole so you don’t feel any stones or sharp objects as you walk. The shoe is quite rugged and capable of heavy abuse on any type of terrain. Order up 1/2 - 1 size as the toe box narrows.

Scarpa fits like a glove. Grippy Vibram sole.
There is something different about Scarpa. I've owned four pairs of Scarpas now over the years, and their fit is more sculpted to my foot than any other footwear maker. I also have the mid-height Zen Pro, which I wear in cold weather. The Zen Pro low hikers do fit snuggly over the top of the foot at first due to the thick padding - especially in the tongue. I do buy them in a slightly larger size (48EU vs 47EU normally). After wearing the Zen Pros a few hours, the padding compresses to fit your foot and they fit like a glove. The Zen Pro's have a very sturdy Vibram sole, with a relatively stiff footbed. The rubber sole is fairly "hard" - meaning they will grip rocks and wear well. They are true hikers with a tread depth a little deeper than some approach shoes. With the hard rubber soles, they might mark your floors if worn indoors - which I minimize. I wear these low hikers for bicycling, as the Vibram sole is very grippy on platform pedals. Overall, I love the Scarpa Zen Pros.

So much for another good company going down
I've owned three other pairs of these exact shoes and never had the experience with them that I did with these. The shoes stunk for a long time when they were new. They seem to be made with some kind of chemical wash that reacted with my feet. I have never had this happen before or since owning these. The insole is also total junk. I believe this is because Scarpa moved manufacturing to China, from Italy. So much for another good company going down.......

Great multi-season shoes: rugged, comfortable, not too heavy nor light. Well made and durable.
Love these Scarpa. Have not taken them out hiking yet but used them over 5 days walking in Disney Orlando in 100F degree weather with no problem (they actually have good padding so winter use should not be a problem unless walking in deep snow, but the heat did not kill me in the 100F weather). I have other high heel Scarpas and boots including Merrel, Adidas, Salomon but needed low-heels as I am prone to discomfort around my talus (talofibular ligament area) that deepens when I use above-the-heel boots. They fit snugly but not tight (I'm usually a US10.5 and ordered that same size). They appear durable and able to take some rock scuffing. Good sole grip and great laces. They are comfortable to wear and resulted in no blistering, discomfort or stress to my feet.

Great Shoe
This is one of the best designed and best made shoes I have ever worn. Although I have only worn them for a few hours, the comfort and fit are amazing.
