Obagi Medical Medical Dermatix Ultra Advance Scar Treatment, 1 Oz

I had surgery in mid-February and was recommended this OBAGI product by my surgeon. The picture shown is exactly as it looked at the office when they tried to sell it to me. It's clear and gel-like, has no scent, and doesn't feel oily at all. It's kind of like those non-greasy pore-minimizing makeup primers you smooth on your face, for those who know what I'm talking about. The 1 oz bottle lasted me about 6 months with me applying it twice a day, every day, on two one-inch surgery scars. I missed maybe only a day or two. It dries really fast compared to stuff like Mederma. Mederma feels cold and wet on your skin, and you have to fan it until it dries. Lots of waiting. But this product dries right away and I was able to dress immediately after! Also the gel is super soothing and stopped the irritation and itching I had. I'm 6 months post-op now and they definitely feel flatter and less hard compared to before when they were raised!! As for the appearance, they look a little smaller in length and are definitely smoother, but the color is still a bit dark. The doctor told me it'd be at least a year before they fade anyways so I'm not too worried, only time will tell.

I bought this a week ago and started using it right away. I find it doesn't dry at all though it claims it dries fast! I end up not using it regularly as directed because then it will stain my clothes. If I do cover it with a gauze, then it'll just be absorbed by the gauze not on my skin. I felt betrayed by this product. I will still use it though until I finish the whole tube after all, I don't want to waste spending money on this product and just throw it away in the trash. I still have little hope that it'll will reduce the darkness and thickness of my keloid scar.

I bought it for my five-year-old nephew who received 5 stitches just near left eye two weeks ago. When I got it, I found it has no manufacturing date and expiry date!! Now my nephew is using Dermatix (not Dermatix Ultra) bought from hospital that do have manufacturing date and expiry date. After I called the seller, she told me that she didn't know why and give me a email address of the manufacturer to ask by myself. To be honest, I'm not satisfied with the seller's deed. I think the seller should be reponsible for sold stuff and should NOT sell ANY to customers with no manufacturing date and expiry date especially for such scar removing gel. Even though, I already wrote a email to the manufacturer and no feedback yet.I also want to ask those customers who bought Dermatix Ultra already, Have you seen manufacturing date and expiry date on it? Thanks a lot!

I used this cream after using the silicones plasters (CIcacare) for months. I could only use it for a couple of weeks and it now stands in my bathroom cabinet. It takes forever to dry, so not very practical for busy people. Very greasy also.Not sure if it really made any difference, but i might have used it for a too short period of time .

You know, when your doctor highly recommends a product to reduce scarring, and actually carries the product himself,you figure it must be good. I got my first tube directly from the doctor, which was handy, but then, when I started seeing such dramatic results so quickly, I realized why he only suggests this brand. It's amazing. It really works to soften, smooth, and fade scars. I wish I had used this any other time I had surgery. I have only used it on fresh scars, so I don't know how it does for older ones, but, that's my next step since it is helping me to heal so quickly. My first tube lasted about 1 1/2 months with daily use, and I purchased my second tube through Amazon. High praise from someone who usually doesn't write a review.

This product is fda approved so supposed it would be better than other product in the market?! I used it twice a day and I do see some improvement in terms with the length of the scar and the discoloration. Will continue using it as my doctor said I needed to use it for 4 months. I hope it will work out!

My child was involved in an accident and suffered a very nasty laceration on the front of her lower leg. The resulting scar was about 10 inches long and jagged in spots. We tried many different cremes and gels (including Mederma...which did nothing) before someone told us about the Dermatix. We have seen positive results using this product. The appearance of the scar has lessened and we will continue using it. My wife has also used it in several smaller spots where moles were removed and it has worked equally well on those spots.

I placed my order and was surprised at how fast I received it. It does what it says it does. My scar was fairly fresh of only three months old so perhaps that helped. I had some lumpy keloid tissue which I did not find attractive. I applied this lotion at least twice a day for about two months and the keloid tissue shrunk and the scar is barely noticeable. I definitely would recommend giving it a try. Besides it's guaranteed.
