I am an OLD FASHIONED "Mix" 'snob'. There was only ONE syrup for me--and then PROOF forced me to try others syrups--after they had fufillment issues-two times. LAVA syrup is the ONLY one to come close to a smooth and balanced OF-not overly sweet or overly spiced.. My only complaint is that it is, perhaps, slightly heavy on the 'cherry' flavor --yet the orange oils come thru nicely on the finish. And the added bonus---LAVA is less expensive --by 1/2!

The flavoring is PERFECT! It really satisfies the cravings one gets when abstaining from alcohol. Add it to an N/A bourbon and you will definitely be pleased.

Out of all the Old Fashioned mixers my wife and I have tried over the years, nothing has ever come close to the LAVA old fashioned mixer. It has very warm cherry notes and a hint of citrus. A 0.5oz pour with 2oz of whiskey is all you need. Add a couple dashes of bitters and garnish with a cherry and an orange peel. If you really want to enhance the flavor of LAVA, it pairs best with Maker’s Mark Cast Strength. Trust me.

First of all, I absolutely love this Old Fashioned syrup. It is really flavorful, easy to use, and the hint of maraschino cherries is fantastic. Don't forget to shake your bottle because the best stuff settles in the bottle. Speaking of bottle, that's where I have my gripe. Recently, shipping has become an issue. This last order arrived via USPS rather than amazon and was completely broken, with all the liquid drained, and (most depressingly) not eligible for refund or replacement even though I tried to lodge that complaint the same day I received it! I'll order again, but fingers crossed the shipment issues stop.

I have tried MANY different Old Fashioned mixes, Lava is by far the best. I have it on subscription.

Since the bottle I received was sticky on the outside and had a very pungent flavor, it is believed that the cold temperatures may have compromised the product prior to my receiving it. It honestly tasted like it was only orange bitters. It just wasn't for me. Down the drain it went.

Zero stars. Sugar, water, and food coloring with no body. Absolute crap. Do not buy. Tastes terrible in an old fashioned and is a waste of your bourbon and money. Bittermilk is a quality old fashioned mix and Williams Sonoma Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned cocktail mixer is top of the line, both for around the same price point $20.00. Lava is garbage.

Too sweet for my taste. Makes the drink cloudy.
