Great Battery Spot Welder with a Little Help from YouTube!
I recently used a battery spot welder, and overall, it’s been excellent! The initial instructions were a bit confusing, but with a few helpful YouTube videos, I quickly got the hang of it.I used this spot welder to replace batteries that had a coating making it impossible to solder to the sides. The spot welder worked perfectly for this task, allowing me to make strong, clean welds with ease.Once I figured out how to use it, the performance was fantastic. It made the battery replacement process much smoother and more efficient than soldering.Overall, I’d give this battery spot welder five stars. With a bit of guidance from online resources, it’s a reliable tool that gets the job done effectively.

Slightly confusing interface.
Works perfectly. It’s a little tricky to hold the probs and the hit the weld button. But it does have an automatic mode. Once you get used to it.

Surprisingly powerful
I flew out of my chair when I did my first weld. The shower of sparks caught me by surprise. It's not too easy to see the settings. It's all 2 rows of tiny LEDs and there is no way to see what is up or what is down. That means you can read the settings completely wrong. You can have auto mode on while thinking it's on manual. You can have the highest powersetting on thinking you are on lowest. But it does the job.It is small and very light. Very nice but also kind of annoying. Moving the weld leads means you are also moving the whole unit and it kind of gets in the way. It is too small and light for its own good. The leads are unisolated and it's kind of scary holding pure copper knowing how powerful this thing is. I covered the leads with electrical tape.I was able to make a whole 40 cell pack with hundreds of welds before the battery ran out.I was able to tack 1 mm steelplate together. Not a weld I'd trust with my life but useful as a temporary glue while working. The unit is surprisingly powerful and great value for money.

Super useful
This has saved me money. I have been trying to get things to repaired and every time I do it cost me extra and so now that I've purchased this I can actually connect my own batteries to the things that need to be repaired. It's been used on a battery pack for a drill and a mangroomer back shaver. I'm getting ready to use it on my electric toothbrush.

The Weakest and Most Disappointing Waste of Money in the History of the World
I bought this a few years ago back when it had 6 "gears". It worked ok back then but was underpowered. I think I used it a total of 2 times back then. I went to go use it again and it now no longer has enough power to weld even the thinnest nickel strips. now I have to buy another one that is more powerful and not cheap garbage. This isn't even high enough quality for a hobbyist that uses it every once in a while, because now 3 years later it is completely useless... it is complete trash that will just disappoint you over and over again. you know what they say, you get what you pay for. Also important to note: It will NOT weld pure nickel strips at all, the only thin I have been able to weld with it is the fake "nickel" strips that come with the welder. I bought separately some 0.1x8mm nickel strips (the thinnest kind that even the weakest welders should be able to weld) and it can't weld them unless you hit the same spot 3 times.

Used it twice, pulled it out to use again and it won't work. But seller replaced. Works great!
Plug it in to charge and pressed a couple buttons and some L.E.D.s flash like 10 times. A middle blue L.E.D. slowly flashes. Had it charging for 5 hours, still nothing. I imagine if I had used it more often it would probably work, but it seems to be junk now. Troubleshot with the seller, still couldn't get it to work, so the seller sent me a new one, even though it's been a while since the purchase. I'm a happy buyer again!

gets it done 7/10
Using this to repair battery packs for power tools. The factory welds on my battery packs are very strong needing pliers to pull off (dewalt batteries). This device does pretty good spot welds but i can pull the welds off moderately easily with enough force by hand. Product is very easy to use. From my own experience it seems best to go middle range setting 3-5 and keep 1 weld tip on the strip and spot weld 2-3 times more over it. Ive tried different variations spot welding once but doing 6-8 welds on 1 battery. It gives away to easily. Using max power on the same weld burns it out making the whole. Pushing too lightly makes a hole in the nickel. Using 2-3 spot welds same spot made for a better weld was very hard to pull off but for some reason it was only 1 side that was strong. This was good enough for me though as long as its hard to pull off i should be set when I make the battery packs 6-8 welds.Best tip I have for using this device, place 1 tip on item that is to be welded using your non-dominant hand and place the other tip using your dominant hand afterwards for more stability. The cables are very short but this helps a lot. I tried using little pressure and my welds were bad. I think what they meant by using pressure is don't try jamming the sh*t out of it.Just enough so the nickel strip is touching the battery.Keep the tips close but not to close seems like the farther they were the easier they ripped off.Hope someone finds this review helpful. If I don't like this spot welder ill try the kweld ahaha.

Was a skeptic ... Now Convince
I did not know a battery powered spot welder exist until I saw it on Youtube. I was not very convince, but decided to purchase it for my cordless vacuum battery replacement. Thanks to Youtube for showing how it works, I get an idea how it works. However, the first time is somewhat startling when it made the spark. After a few tries, I got a hang of it. The welder made 2 welds (one at each contact points). Surprisingly, the weld is sturdy. I pull the batteries apart but could not. I finish my batteries replacement in less than half hours with this tool. The welder battery level still indicate full charge.Overall, it is a great tool for DYI project involving battery replacement. I am glad I saw it on Youtube and purchase it. It was worth the investment.
