Superb Table Lamp
This is one of the best products I've ever purchased. No kidding. The design features of this lamp are much more advanced than a standard desk or table lamp, making it much more useful than a standard lamp. As an office desk lamp, it is superb. This lamp's adjustable brightness and "warmth" range is excellent and should serve most all of your needs. The brightness and warmth have a range of adjustments that is awesome and very useful. Even better, the touch adjustments are very simple and easy to use. This lamp provides glare-free, easy-on-the-eyes light across my deak without interfering with my ability to read any of my three monitors. The rectangular head spreads the light evenly across my desk. The base fits behind my 24" monitor, allowing the arm to extend over the top of my monitor and over my paper work, keyboard, etc. The base extends under my monitor, allowing me to easily access the controls. The 1st extension of the articulated arm extends higher than my 16" high monitor with about 1" to spare, allowing the 2nd arm to extend over the top of the monitor. This allows me to position the lamp head over my work area. The swivel head is quite useful , allowing you to adjust it for your needs. The usb port is a great bonus. The designer who added this user-friendly feature was being very thoughtful.Overall, this lamp provides excellent value and should suit your needs more than satisfactorily.I hope this helps.

Highly recommended, coolest and best functioning desk lamp I've seen. Very high quality light output.
I have another similar LED desk lamp. Same form factor, similar control, the difference is the LED light array is long and narrow, this if course is a larger diffuser panel. I thought this would be basically the same, other than the light panel. Wrong. The other one is cool, but pretty light and flimsy, this one is rock solid. The control panel (4 soft touch buttons) control the temperature of the light, from very warm and orange to blue-ish and cool. You can easily fine tune somewhere on the middle to get any type of light you want. You could use this as a photo light for small objects in a studio. The other two buttons control the brightness, with a lot of steps between dark and bright. The light makes a faint buzzing sound when you've maxed out any control in any direction to let you know that is the limit. Keep pushing the color temp button, when it is as cool or warm as it gets, it will buzz. Same for brightness. You can turn the brightness down very low so it can be a faint reading or ambient light or you can blast it and light up a large desk area. The arm articulates on several axes, you can aim it where you need to at the angle that you want. The base is glossy piano black and heavy weight, the arm is black matte plastic. One small negative, is the power cord that plugs into the back does not seat securely, it has come loose and come out from just moving the lamp around- it lacks a firm snap in place, just kind of slides in there with a loose friction fit.I guess another is the color temperature buttons are backwards and counterintuitive. Warmer light is always shown to the left on any illustration, cooler light to the right. That is how they fall on the color spectrum. These buttons are backwards, the left one makes it cooler, the right one makes it warmer. The cooler button has a little book icon, the warmer side has a cup of coffee icon. I guess that means, use bright light to read, use warm light to relax.Having two of these, one for each side of the desk would be the optimum set-up for someone who needs high quality diffused light that is completely controllable to do detail work, examine photographs or proofs under controlled light, etc. 2 of these plus a white backdrop would make a perfect desktop photo studio to photograph small parts, for product photography, selling things on eBay, etc. The diffusion panel gives a perfect light for photography.

For Those Who Prefer the Look of Incandescent & Halogen Bulbs - A (Nearly) Perfect LED Lamp for Us!
The lamp arrived at my office today. It is quite attractive and it works exactly as advertised. What I like most about this lamp is the ability to adjust the color temperature of the light that it produces. For a long time, I've avoided LED and CFL lights because I couldn't stand the color of the light that those bulbs produced (a cold, bluish / white, sterile, institutional / fluorescent-looking light; not at all warm or pleasing to the eye). I am very sensitive to my environment, and lighting plays a big role. I needed a lamp for my new office and I didn't want the kind of heat that halogen (or even incandescent) bulbs give off, but I did want a warm COLORED light… I took a chance on this lamp, and ordered it sight unseen, based on the reviews - and I have no regrets about my decision! You absolutely CAN warm up the color of the light from this lamp, to make it look just like it has an incandescent bulb in it - I love that.I was a little worried about the fact that it has a plastic (rather than metal) arm, but it seems to be well built, and the hinges are very tight. Time will tell if these pivot points STAY tight (but once it's adjusted, I don't plan on manipulating the positioning of the lamp head too much. So, I'm thinking it should be okay). The base has an acceptable amount of heft, so it doesn't feel like it's about to tip over. The touch controls give the lamp a bit of sophistication, but for somebody with my degree of OCD, the accumulated fingerprints on that glossy surface will require frequent wipe-downs. I like that you can press and hold one of the buttons, and the lamp base will vibrate (like your cell phone) when you've maxed out the range of that particular adjustment.I don't anticipate using the dimmer on this lamp - I'm running it 100% brightness, which is solidly "average" for a desk lamp, but not nearly as bright as most of the halogen desk lamps I've owned. A little more power would be a welcomed addition. Still, with the lamp at full brightness all day long, I am able to touch the head of the lamp with my bare hand, and it is hardly even warm. Same with the surface of the light panel itself, which is pretty amazing.LED light tends to be fairly directional, so I'm glad that this lamp has a large light panel - anything smaller wouldn't be of much use. There is pronounced and fairly significant light falloff. The light from this lamp doesn't seem to "flow" or "spread" like the light from halogen or incandescent desk lamps that I've used in the past. If you're looking to light your ENTIRE desk with this lamp, I’d say forget it unless you have a really small desk. If you need something more akin to a task lamp or some light in a smaller, defined subset of your workspace, it will do THAT job just fine.Part of the reason why this lamp won't light your entire desk is because you can't get the head of the lamp high enough; THE ARM IS TOO SHORT - which is my biggest complaint about this lamp. A longer arm would allow me to get the head of the lamp above my eye level. And the higher up you go with the head of the lamp, the further the light will carry. A longer arm would also allow for the base of the lamp to be well off to the side of my work surface, while the head of the lamp hovers over the CENTER of the work surface, where the light is most needed. With this lamp, the arm just isn't quite long enough to do that. (Well, actually you CAN, but with the arm you have to decide whether you want height or reach. You can’t have lots of BOTH, however. The further OUT you want the arm to reach, the more height you'll have to sacrifice.) Bottom line: I don't get as much height or reach from the arm on this lamp as I would like. It works, but it could work even better.Another frustration is that the arm swivels on the base, but not ALL THE WAY around. I could buy myself a little more reach if I swung the arm 180 degrees around, since it is offset to the far edge of the base; I could get about 6 more inches of reach, without having to give up ANY height. However, the arm will swing maybe about 45 degrees or so, in either direction, and then it hits a hard stop. I’m guessing the reason is to prevent the lamp from tipping over. These are minor gripes, for which I've deducted 1 star. A longer arm and a brighter light panel would make this otherwise exceptional lamp truly outstanding. Still, I'm much happier than I am UNhappy with this purchase. It's not a perfect desk lamp, but it's pretty close!
