... the lock gets SOOO tight that it takes a great deal of effort to unlock it
The joint squeaks and the lock gets SOOO tight that it takes a great deal of effort to unlock it. . . And the it squeaks too. . . SMH. I'd say it's dangerous in that if you need to unhook from a belay device quickly (assuming your partner is no longer on belay) you could easily be stuck on the rope.
