I was tempted to buy one of the other much cheaper RJ45 crimping tools listed here on Amazon, all Made in China, but every single one of them had an alarming percentage of reviews that said that the cable crimps they made failed with these cheaper tools.What the heck. Life is too short to save a few bucks and I hate getting tools that don't work 100% of the time, so I got this thing.And it works great.

They are expensive but they're probably the best crimpers you can buy so they're definitely worth it!

Nice formed tool with lots of power.

The Simply45 Pass-Through RJ45 Crimp Tool worked beautifully for some outdoor connectors with shielded network cable. At $70 this is one of the more pricey crimp tools but crimping is effortless and the tool feels heavy and solid in the hand.The outer jacket stripper works nicely; just compress the tool enough to nick the outer coating and then rotate the cable (or the tool) to finish the job. The wire cutter next to the jacket stripper cuts cleanly. I found that it's much easier to get all of the wires into the proper positions if they're trimmed to equal length before inserting them into the plug. As other reviewers noted I found that for one of my connections the white/orange wire was not cut off but I could not see any flaw in the cutter blade.Wiring color codes for 568A and 568B are printed on the tool below the plug socket for handy reference if you haven't memorized them.The connections that I made worked perfectly the first time. What more could one ask?One month update - November 19, 2022: I've had the pleasure of using this tool for several more terminations with both grounded and ungrounded plugs and haven't had to re-do a single connection. I do check each cable with a tester upon completion. This tool is a pleasure to use.Another tip for aligning wires - and this would be true for all pass-through tools - strip a little extra length of cable, a 1/2" or 1", to enable you to trim them all to the same length and be able to pull the wires tight before crimping. The wires sticking out of the plug also let you see the colors so that you can be sure that each wire is in the correct position.
