Needed a safe and properly weatherproof setup for our garden lights. This unit has a sturdy setup, looks like a no-BS IP66 rating and getting it set up with the app and then hooking up to Alexa took less than 2 minutes from start to finish. Very happy. Recommend!

I like the ease of wiring this socket and the build quality. It is quite robust and it seems well insulated against water ingress. The setup procedure for connection to an app is easy, I used the Smart Life app which I already have for other devices and it worked first time with no problems. This also links to my SmartThings hub to interact with other devices and also Alexa. The timer settings I have set up work reliably and it has never failed yet. Time will tell for longevity but if it lasts 5 years or more I will consider it a great purchase.

I purchased this plug to remotely control garden lights. It was installed by an electrician and appears to be waterproof. Pairing was another matter I have tried for 6 days to pair this to my WiFi but it would not pick up the signal the socket fitted at the back of a 4 bed house the router in the hall in the centre. I have had to buy a WiFi extender to enable the socket to pick up my wife. Moving the router nearer the socket worked however this compromised the wifi signal to my office at the front of the house. All in all it now works well not I've paid an additional £60 for a WiFi extender. Having also paid am electrician to fit thus socket and the purchase of the wifi extender it has worked out to be a very expensive outdoor socket. Had i known I needed a WiFi extender I would have just purchased a normal outdoor socket with a manual timer which would have been cheaper.

Bought this item to power electric gates and driveway lighting separately. Crucially, both sockets can be independently controlled either on the socket, or via the app! Although the socket has its own app, it is in fact a reskinned version of the TUYA app, so if you have that app already controlling other items in your home, you can easily add the smart socket to your TUYA devices and have the convenience of one app.You can also set schedules for on and off for both sockets independently. In addition, its Google and Alexa compatable!
