Best tool for the job by far
This device is, as other reviews point out, not the cheapest way to lift and carry. If you have one item to move or even just moving a few things once, it might be a luxury. We have helped move a number of family members, friends, and co-workers, and I wish this was around twenty years earlier. This makes lifting almost any awkward item very easy and safe. Once you place the strap under the object, two people just kneel or squat at each end, clip in, pull out any slack, and stand. All the weight is on the shoulders, leaving hands free to steady the item and/or help with standing. The object can be slid back and forth on the strap to balance the load, which also helps when traveling steps or stairs.Craziest thing we did with this: my daughter found a great deal on a model kitchen. The catch was that we had to disassemble and move it. Neither my son-in-law or I saw the stuff in advance, so we didn't know the scope of the project. The Shoulder Dolly was excellent at lifting all of the cabinets regardless of shape or length (some were 10' long, and one pantry was 4' x 9'). The real surprise was the two main countertops: an 8x6 and an 11x4 slap of inch-and-a-half Soapstone. That stuff is about 33 lbs per sq. ft. We barely made it to the truck, but this lifting system did fine. (yeah, I should have rented some sort of drywall cart, but that's not the best down steps).Several times since, this device had helped make moving large and/or heavy stuff a lot easier and safer. If you need the best tool, it is worth the price without question.

More expensive than cheaply made clones but your back is worth it.
Really assists a pair of able bodied people, preferably of similar height, to safely move appliances. Your health and safety warrant the extra cost and a few minutes to carefully review the video nstructions and practice a few times before attempting more complex-heavy moves. One shortcoming l, perhaps user error, is the difficulty using these on Darrow low ceiling clearance stairways.

Highly Recommended!
I purchased this due to the standout feature of it being comfortable having adjustable straps that allow you to distribute weight evenly across your shoulders and back. I recently used the Shoulder Dolly 3500 to move my washer and dryer, and I was impressed by how smoothly the process went. The dolly allowed me to lift and move the appliances with ease, and the adjustable straps ensured that the weight was distributed evenly, reducing any strain on my back. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend this product

Most comfortable there is.
If you could physically do it, you and another guy could lift a car with these things. Anything else that is a strap based lifting product I've seen so far is Trash after using this. If you use it for work, the comfort make all the difference.

Highly recommended for moving large items
The Nielsen heavy duty moving strap comes with two harnesses with buckles, the large strap, a carry bag, directions and tutorial DVD. I used this strap to move a high value machine ($30k) from a basement to the garage. The machine weighed about 350 lbs., made of metal so all sides were slick and would have been hard to manage without this strap when going up stairs. This strap system is very high quality and is capable of lifting much more than we did. The buckles are easy to use. The harnesses were very comfortable to use and saved our backs. It takes a little practice to get the hang of using these but it didn't take long to get it done. Moving something lighter like a washer, dryer or refrigerator would be cake compared to what we were moving. This system is highly recommended.

Professional Mover review
Hands down my favorite piece of equipment. The best feature is being able to clip the face plate behind you when not in use. Very comfortable!

Does exactly what it is supposed to do, but a bit pricey
The very first thing you are going to want to know when looking at this item, is what makes the difference of over $200 for these things to be heavy duty dollys. I thought the exact same thing. From looking at some online reviews it wasn't easy to discern what teh big difference was, and if it was worth the price jump.Quite honestly, I dont think it is worth as steep of a price jump as I paid, BUT, it definitely is worth double, or perhaps triple. The material is a heavy duty strap and the buckles are high quality. The harness itself is of decent quality. I would compare it to a padded backpack. Its not exactly built like a tank, but built heavy enough. There is no question in my mind after using this thing, that it does exactly what it says it will do. I specifically purchased these straps to move a safe. The safe weighs 880lbs when its empty, and I didn't want to pay movers. So I invited a couple of workout crazy friends, and we were able to put the straps under it and pick it up and move it. Even with a large height difference between the individuals they were able to comfortably lift it. However, when it came to the point to where we would move the safe up the ramp, it shifted weight a bit too much to one guy, and thats just too much weight. So in the end for what I purchased it for, it didn't deliver. And that might not be fair to this product, because I was specifically buying it to move a single item, and I don't move often, so bad move me. My wife and I were able to move objects around the house that would normally be heavy, and it worked nicely. Once you get used to putting the straps on and moving together it worked just fine.I did NOT like moving up and down stairs, it was still awkward, and made us not want to use the straps. In the very end, we ended up just moving the majority of the stuff by hand, without the straps. But this was for a 2 hour move or something. Unless you are planning to be a pro mover, or move all day, I'm not sure these are worth the extra $$. And if you are like me and you want to move a 880 lb safe. Do yourself a favor, and just hire movers. Get them to move the whole place, rather than just a single item, which would cost the same!4 stars for quality on the material2 stars for the price of the material3 stars for use3 stars for packaging
