CHH 15" Jumbo Chinese Checkers with Marbles

We love this board. The marbles aren't exactly glass, but they are just fine for our needs. I love the size of the board and that it's easy to grasp and move the marbles around the board since there is enough space between them. The marble colors are great and easy to differentiate. It comes with a bag to store the marbles in. I only wish it also came with a box or else have a space to store the marbles inside. However, this is the best board I've found in my search for a 'perfect' Chinese Checkers board, and I think it's a keeper!

CONS (none of them worth removing a star): >>There were a few very tiny marks around the edges of a few of the divots where the stain of the board was gone. Easily fixed with a permanent alcohol marker in a matching shade. >>You cannot actually store the marbles and the board in the box once you take the plastic over wrap off off the board (which holds the marbles in place) and put the marbles into the included pouch. BOTTOM LINE: Excellent quality, highly recommended. I have no regrets buying this board.

The board is heavy, solid and deeply drilled. It is a great playing surface because, as others have said, there is room for fingers to move the marbles without upsetting the rest of the game and the marbles don't knock out easily. My disappointment relates to the marbles and the box. The box came to us punctured and significantly torn. It bothers me to have a new item be shipped looking like it came from a discount bin. Also, the marbles are not the colors shown - they are shades of blue and green - not your standard primary and secondary colors. The colors are not even consistent within each color section, some are opalescent and some are matte. Also, the marbles themselves also are not perfect spheres. But when compared to the other sets available, I think that the quality board and the chamois marble bag make this set worth the money. The marbles can be replaced, if desired.

Great quality. It's pretty large, but it makes it a lot easier to pick up the marbles and play with large groups. The marbles have a cover that protects them from breaking. It's a beautiful board and I'm very happy with this purchase.

Bought this Chinese Checkers game so that I could play with my grandchildren. They love the game and find it easy to play and at the same time learning and understanding the strategies that will help you win. The board is made of solid wood, not particle board, the size is bigger than the usual size and I like this feature as the smaller ones become difficult to play. The marbles are made out of wood and are very light and easy to move on the board. I also purchased a set of glass marbles in case the wooden ones would not work properly but so far they are doing very well. Highly recommend this particular game for the whole family.

Finally! A Chinese Checkers set with deep enough holes that the marbles stay put in them and spaced far enough apart that you can actually get your fingers in to move the marbles without sending everything on the board scattering to the four corners of the earth, annoying everyone involved and disrupting the entire game! The 15-inch diameter board is made of solid wood with deep-drilled holes, stained in a lovely redwood hue that is aesthetically worthy of being left out for show on any gaming table, and is adequately proportioned for a legitimate Chinese Checkers game using standard-sized marbles. Marbles come in six distinctly different, pearlized colors. This set is wonderfully reminiscent of the larger-sized board with real marbles that my brother and I grew up playing as children in the '70s. As another reviewer mentioned, the marbles that come with this set are not entirely perfect; upon close inspection, a few do appear to be slightly irregular. (No big deal; they all look and play just fine. However, if this really bothers you, pick up a set of real marbles for a couple of bucks at any local toy store.) Additionally, in all frankness, it comes rather poorly packaged and said packaging is woefully cheesy looking. This is easily remedied by simply throwing the box directly into the trash bin immediately upon receipt. Proceed to proudly display your lovely new Chinese Checkers set, grab a friend or family member, and enjoy the game as it was meant to be played! We tried two or three sets prior to this one and our children ages 6 and 7 -- even with their tiny fingers -- were ready to give up the game altogether due to the frustration of trying to play on cramped 11-inch boards and, in at least one case (Schilling), with pathetic inferior little lightweight plastic balls. Argh... :/ All in all, this is a REALLY nice set that pleases our entire family. Perfectly-sized board -- plenty of room for fingers and players of all ages. Game rules and a cloth bag for marble storage are included. Surprisingly good quality at this price point. An outstanding value. Let the games begin!

Good size, good quality, good price - we were very happy with this after purchasing another set and returning it. Anything under this diameter just can't accommodate average-size adult fingers picking up marbles between other marbles. The holes are a nice depth to prevent rolling. The marbles' colours were not as pictured, but they are sufficiently different to easily distinguish from one another, and they have an attractive iridescence. This board and its bag of marbles fits into our game drawer with no need for a box. It is a good value!

My kids love to play this game with me. The 7 year old will ask me to play with him and 4 year old will just play with it by sorting it. Pros: - Board is very well built. Solid, heavy and big enough - Marbles fit well with the holes in board. Cons: - Marbles are not of same size. They actually varies quite a lot. Fortunately they all fit well and never to piont that will fall off the board easily. - White and "grey" marbles are hard to distinguish in dim light conditions. It's not a deal breaker because i never have to use all 6 colors so I can always choose a different colour, or play in a well lit condition.

First off, the board itself is great! It is perfect for adults to play without the fear of having marbles rolling around. The only knock is that the marbles are not all the same size, but I can get past that. Hopefully it holds up!
