Provides a very pronounced basil flavor. Some people will complain saying that it tastes like anise or licorice, but the fact is especially the stronger variants of Basil like Thai Basil and holy basil have a very strong anise or licorice like quality to them. What people get confused with is fresh basil also has a green "leafy" vegital flavor on top of the mild anise or licorice like flavor.I use this in Thai food cooking when it asks for holy basil and I can only find regular sweet basil. This amps up the basil flavor to the right proportions.

IDK if it has improved, but this taste like anise/licorice, not basil. Don't get me wrong I love the anise flavor, but it's just not what I was wanting.

Awesome flavor tastes good, not as strong as some brands, but awesome when you need a little bit of subtlety.

It tastes more like licorice than basil.

I cook a lot of Italian and seldom have fresh basil on hand, dehydrated just doesn't cut it. I only need a small amount to replace the real thing.

Was excited to try this but once I received it and tried drop it was anise flavoring not basil? Sent it back...

A little basil extract goes a long way. We used this in our signature cocktail at our wedding! The drink was vodka, lemonade and a splash of basil extract. We had 160 guests and made a lot of the lemonade cocktail and still had some left in the extract bottle.
