Best extender I've used, and I've seen a lot.
I bought one of the these last year in order to run an HDMI signal into my living room so I could store my cable box, game consoles, servers and such in another room/closet. The distance with walls was about 40 feet. The one I purchased a year ago is still running like a champ and have not had a single problem with it. I know there are other brand single cable extenders, but I've had three of those die on me over the years. The only one that has lasted and performed perfectly has been these J-Techs. I just purchased my second one in order to run signal upstairs to a bedroom and it again works flawlessly. It may be more work and more money to get this J-Tech rather than a cheaper alternative, but none of those match the quality of this unit. I do suggest getting a small surge protector for the unit, to protect it from problematic electrical surges, etc.

HDMI/Cat5 Extender through Amazon is Amazing
I recently purchased an HDMI Extender that enabled me to have a duplicate high definition image in my family room and in our exercise room by using the HDMI to Cat5 extender from J-Tech. I had first tried a similar product from a different company but the first company's product had a bad power supply and when the replaced it, the quality of the video signal was spotty with lots of pixel breakup. For almost the same money, I found the Digital HDMI extender from J-Tech and it worked perfectly from the moment I plugged the Cat5 cable into it. This system uses only a single power supply on the transmit module and requires no power on the receiver end. The best part is that I was told by a local home theater company that I'd have to spend 5,000 to get a decent signal into the rest of the house, and with a $20 HDMI splitter and this HDMI/Cat5 extender, including the cost to have the Cat5 cable run from point A to B in the attic and into both ends, I spent a little over $200 for everything and I couldn't be happier with the results. Plus it cost me under $4 for overnight shipping! Such a deal!

It does what is advertised but does not do it well.
It does what it says but the image quality is poor.I am using this on an NVR that is connected to a 19" 720p HD TV less than 25 feet away. Used Cat 5e cable. The NVR is also connected to a PC monitor via VGA and that image is clearer than the 19" TV.The IR transmitter and receiver are not labeled. Learned by trial and error. Instructions should have pictures of the IR cables so you know which is the receiver and which is the transmitter.Another reviewer had taped the IR to his cable box making it look like the antenna of a bug just dangling. I can see why this was done because there is not ideal position for mounting the transmitter. The IR function barely works. Either the equipment is faulty or the positions of the transmitter and receiver are not correct. I've tried placing them in different positions and locations but it barely functions.Overall I am not satisfied but after running the cables and installing this, I get the video feed I need.If I could redo this, I would have bought a long HDMI cable and a separate IR extender and saved a lot of money.

Perfect solution for relocating a TV
When I moved to a new home the place where I wanted to position my TV was not necessarily near the CATV outlet. My first idea was to use a HDMI over wireless product, however it doesn't seem like the technology is quite there to deliver a clear signal with sync'd audio every time. And the price of the HDMI over wireless is in the several hundred dollar range.Further research found HDMI over Ethernet (not over LAN or IP). This is a direct P2P link between the transmitter and receiver. The main problem with this was that I still had to run cables from the one side of the room to the other. What I found to work best was ultra flat CAT6 patch cables. I was able to use the HDMI extender and the ultra flat cables under my carpet to keep everything very clean. The configuration of the J-Tech HDMI Extender is very simple. Power the receiver side, run two cables between ports 1 & 2 respectively, and plug in the HDMI source & feed.On my LG with Motorola Comcast Box I did one minor issue. I had to switch around the resolution settings on the Motorola before the LG would detect the correct format. After the sync occurred I was able to switch between 480i/p 720i/p and 1080i (no P on my Comcast) without any sync problems. The picture is perfect and the audio is dead on. Great product!

Best multiiple HDMI display solution I know. NO delays at all - no-brainer setup.
This really works the way you wish all tech products would. Using this along with an additional J-Tech receiver and powered HDMI splitter (ordered separately) and an Ethernet switch, I was able to connect 4 HDMI TVs to the same DVR and have them all run in perfect synchronization. NO DELAYS at all. No setup or Tcp/ip knowledge required. The receivers look for the transmitter on their own, and connect/configure themselves as soon as they are powered up and connected. The units are small, and generate almost NO heat, so you can place them where you need them and not worry about ventilation. I will be using this system anytime I need multiple displays from any HDMI feed. With an Ethernet switch (or several if you have to extend more than 400'), an unlimited number of displays in remote locations. Great for conference events with audience overflows, or home entertainment setups. The self-configuration means I can send any tech to the site without worrying about setup issues.
