Quality-wise, this cable fits the bill! I didn't know whether I'd be able to tell the difference between S-video and it's related AV connector, the RCA (that's composite, or the yellow, red, white phonos)—however when placing the two side by side, at the same resolution the S-video image is noticably sharper. My only criticism is that the descriptions says this is a "premium" S-video cable. IMO a true premium cable would be shielded against electrical/magnetic interference—there would be a cylindrical lump attached around the cable, and this cable is lacking one of these, hence only giving it 4 out of 5 stars overall. Apart from the shield, I'm scoring it 5 out of 5 for the individual review elements. The only reason I scored it down for lacking a shield is because the description says its 'premium', and I'd expect a premium cable to be shielded. Otherwise, what marks a cable as premium over other 'normal' ones?
