R-Pi, Arduino and BBC Microbit have replaced the old "Radio Shack electronics kits" that were popular when I was a kit but it can be pricy to source expansion models. This kit solves that problem. Disclosure and caveat: I've already reviewed another Keystudio sensor kit designed for R.Pi microcontrollers and since this kit is similar, so are my reviews. The catch: if you're outside the UK, this kit is likely of limited use since it's geared specifically to the BBC Microbit and no other microprocessors - I happened to have one since I have family in the UK but if you don't, I'd suggest going R.Pi or Arduino and using Keystudio's other kit(s) since those have much, MUCH broader availability and support. UK user? Awesome, get your microbit on. *** *** *** At about a buck-fifty per module (some sensors, some buzzers, servos etc) this kit represents an amazing value as an all-in-one STEM kit upgrade. We've tested the vast majority of the included modules and they all function perfectly with a BBC Micro Bit 1.5 (we didn't have a v2 to test but expect it'd be fine with that too). The variety is just staggering - from sensors to propeller, to buzzers to displays - any project you can dream up should be well serviced. As well, the included storage case makes for a very neat package - easy storage and transport for STEM workshops. Top marks and recommended. Whether you're running a STEM day camp for kids or maybe you're a parent wanting to upgrade your kid's microbit, this is a no-brainer.

The kit itself came packaged nicely and looked exactly as the picture. I had something I needed assistance with and the seller was great to work with.

It's unfortunate that here in Canada, many still don't know about the BCC micro:bit which I think is a far more accessible and kid friendly than the more popular Raspberry Pi and Arduino UNO. The micro:bit is designed for education and because of this, it's better suited for my 10-year old to get into electronics and programming projects. The Keyestudio 45 Sensors Starter Kit makes a great complement to the micro:bit and adds 45 additional sensors and projects if you already have Keyestudio Basic Starter Kit. The components appear to be well constructed and nicely organized with the included case. The tutorials are easy to follow and detailed and there are plenty of projects to pick from. This will surely help to keep my 10-year busy and interested in micro:bit projects. Her favourite sensor from this kit is the motion sensor. The Keyestudio kit is really a great starter kit, or additional kit to expand the number of projects you can work in with the micro:bit. The components have a good build quality and the tutorials are detailed, but still accessible for a younger audience like my 10-year old. Highly recommended.
