Zen in Your Garden: Creating Sacred Spaces Hardcover – July 26, 2016

I have really enjoyed this book. I received it quickly and in good condition. I appreciate the simplicity and tranquility of Japanese gardens. I realize that Japanese gardens are created with great symbolism - rocks positioned in just the right way, etc. but this book does a really good job of providing tips on how you can create a Zen garden of your own that is inspired by those revered gardens. This book has a lot of pictures and practical suggestions.

This book is everything I anticipated. I bought it to get some more ideas for my au natural yard. The first time I looked thriough the book I found it to be quite calming and quite relaxing. I even shared the book with a co-worker and told her to look through it. I look forward to incorporating some of the ideas from the book to use when Spring roils around again. I recently learned that Amazon is pretty much one stop shopping. Over all I give this transaction 5 STARS for a job well done. This book is full of great illustrations, some of which I hope to incorporate in my own yard. It's informative and is comprised of thoughtful explanations of Zen styles. I'll keep it handy to re-read frequently.

This is such a beautiful book, with excellent useful information and pictures. It sits on my coffee table.

This book is not about Zen gardening or Zen gardens, or even really about Zen in your garden (as the title states). If that's what you're looking for, as I was, you'll be disappointed. (For example, the author doesn't seem to understand either Zen or the actual elements of Zen gardens, devoting an entire chapter to showy, flowering plantings.)

Nice book, lovely photos

Not what I expected.

Very good information about Japanese Zen gardens written by a non-Japanese author. Photos are inspiring, but the text is amazing with aspects of this form of beauty and art.

This is such a super book which is full of calming garden ideas. It’s a joy to look through it and it’s help me establish a small Japanese style area in my own garden. Would definitely recommend though it did take longer than expected to arrive.
