Opening the N2DSXL was a real pain -- needs a 00 triwing (smaller than usual one though the big one worked for me), then you've got 2 sets of power connection plus a ribbon cable. Then getting the battery out was TOUGH! Thought I was gonna ruin the device just trying to break it from the adhesive. Finally it popped out, connected everything back together, let it charge & worked like a charm! Haven't tested it for longevity but it atleast works. Assuming the nearly 2.5x mAhs of this battery will speak for itself.

Comes with a tiny PHILIPS head screwdriver, but the N2DSXL has tri-wing (Y 1.5) screws. You should have a precision tool kit because taking the DS apart requires at least one spudger, if not 3. I had to use 3 and a pair of tweezers. That being said this replacement battery itself is great, and lasts a full day of gaming.

Battery is not 3200 mAh. Lasts significantly less time than an original 3DS battery. Battery health has also rapidly deteriorated with very few charge cycles.

Great but the screwdriver it came with didn't work -too big. Had to use one I already owned.

It worked great! At first. After a few months the battery started dying super fast and eventually, the 3DS would be at full charge and just turn off randomly. Disappointing :(

When it comes to replacing a battery of something I care about since I grew up with it, I take it quite seriously, and though yes it was proper in the fact it was the correct voltage and everything else of importance, it was not the correct measurements for the system, and though to some it means nothing it bugs me. For those who pay even the slightest of attention to these I’d like to let you know that Nintendo still in fact sells replacement batteries for the 3Ds and new3ds xl and regular

Put it in my 3ds and it was like night and day, improved the battery life massively, and I haven't noticed any reductions in power supply/time or charge held for the time I've had it.
