Squeeeeek No More Contractor Pack

I have to admit that a lot of questionable things were done when my house was built, and that I didn't know enough to demand different. Being a multi-story split level house, I have lots of floors that aren't on a slab. When they put down the sub-flooring, I could tell that it was good quality, but I didn't know to demand that the floors would be glued and screwed to the joists. They nailed the floor. So now, 11 years later, I have squeaky floors in two high traffic areas, the kitchen and the walkway from the living/dining room into the kitchen. It started about 5 years ago and has just gotten to the point that I've been ready to tear out the ceiling on the rec-room below and screw in angle brackets that pull the floor down and secure it so it cannot move and squeak.On a whim, I did an internet search and a product showed up called "Squeeeeek No More." I watched some videos of this product and read the reviews. I figured it had to be a good product because there were few negative reviews; mostly 4s and 5s.So I ordered the contractor pack through Amazon to have a more robust carpet fixture (aluminum) and more fasteners and joist locators. The whole thing was less than $50.My kit arrived last week and today I decided to give it a try. I have a very good stud finder and had no trouble finding all the joists. I laid out my whole kitchen floor every 6" on the joists I could get to. Of course, the joists under the cabinets aren't squeaking. I also measured every 16" for the carpeted walkway joists and installed the fasteners right through berber carpet. The nice thing about this kit is it works on carpet, hardwood, or vinyl. If you have tile, you'll need another solution, but you might drill through the grout lines and be able to secure the floor under tile if that's a problem.I'm one happy camper. Every single squeak I had is gone. What a great job this product does. I don't know who is happier, me or my wife. O'Berry Enterprises has a winner product here. The floors in my house were extremely squeaky. I found a video on Youtube where someone was using this kit to secure the boards to the floor in order to eliminate squeaks. I was skeptical at first, but after I bought a kit and tried it, I am a believer! And I used it on carpeted floors. Can't even tell where I put the screws. They are completely hidden under the carpet. It is super easy to use, too. I recommend getting a good deep scan stud finder so that you can find the beams under the floor easier, and also to avoid hitting any electrical wires, etc. But other than finding where it's safe to drill the screws into, this is absolutely a great product. I will definitely be buying these again if I run out and need to fix a squeak again. Hell I might even buy more just to make sure I have some in the future if this item is no longer available.

We just purchased a new home. Loved everything about it except for the load squeeky floors. The first person awake woke the rest of the house up as soon as they moved around. Upon researching possible fixes, I came across this product. I am so glad I did. Works flawless on carpet. Works great on linoleum but does leave a tiny hole. I tapped the hole with a small hammer to lay the edges down and then filled with a colored silicone calk. Now you can't see the holes unless your trying to look for them. Great product!

I bought this many years ago, and was never willing to try it out. Was really worried it would damage the carpet. However I had to take care of some squeaks and rather than pay someone $300.00 (or more) to pull the carpet and screw the floor down, I decided (after watching their videos on YouTube several times) that I'd give it a try.IT WORKED!It was a pain finding the joists, but this worked. There are a few squeaks left but nothing compared to how it sounded like before. I can actually walk across the floor without waking up anyone in the house!If you've sat on the fence for this product - DON'T. It works, it really does work.I am a bit scared to try it out on laminate flooring, so will try but in an inconspicuous area.

I was pretty skeptical about this working but I will admit it works Great! I have several "squeeky" areas under the carpet on the second floor of my house. I wasn't sure how many screws I would use so I bought the contractor pack because of the large number of screws and it has several of the stud finders. Make sure you buy enough screws because if the squeek is in a large area, it will take alot of screws. In some of the areas I had to put the screws about 4" apart to get the squeek to go away. After reading some of the reviews on the non-contractor pack I was concerned that some of the screws would break off and be sticking up too high. However, I took my time, followed the directions and the screws broke off perfect! The carpet was not damaged at all. I would recommend this to anyone.

My husband and I bought this product hoping it would solve our baby bedtime woes with our daughter. We can finally put our little one down for a nap and not worry about the terrible squeaky floor as we walk away. Being the wife of a former contractor, I gravitated towards the contractor pack and it was completely worth the money. I understand how one may find this system difficult to use but we had absolutely no issues. (I sometimes live up to my blonde stereotype and even I had no problems with placement while the hubs was at work.) Our house is over 40 years-old and here we are... months later... you can't see or feel any protrusions through the carpet and our floor truly squeeeeeks no more!

The squeaks we had in our upstairs bedroom was almost unbearable. The purchase of this product seemed like the answer. Finding the floor joists was probably the hardest part. The issue, which had nothing to do with the product, was the joists were not uniform and 16" apart. If the joist was found and the screw was put in it, the squeak was eliminated. Unfortunately, there were squeaks where there was nothing for the screw to affix to. Bottom line, it helped 90% but there are still some squeaks. Good product and does what they advertise.
