Works really well but...
Works really well with an iMac. It makes your USB ports easily accessible. The cable is really sturdy and durable. The only downside is it's so sturdy it doesn't really bend well in other directions so you are limited to where you can place it under your iMac.

Great Hub Let Down by a Couple of Key Things
This is a great value and well made USB 3.1 hub. It feels substantial, made from aluminium and it comes with a strip of Velcro to attach your hub to your desk. Transfer speeds are good and the black finish looks excellent on my desk, so as a hub it functions well. The wedge shape design sits well on the desk and allows for ergonomic access to the USB ports. There's a couple of key things that let this product down though; the first is a minor thing but why is there an LED on this product? Given that it's a self powered hub, there would only be power to it when the PC is switched on, so it really doesn't need any sort of indicator, but if they were going put one on there, why is a cheap bright green LED? A modest blue or white LED would be more in keeping with the otherwise premium feel of this hub.The second issue is a more important and that's the cable length. This is a fixed cable which runs from the hub to your USB plug and it's only around 50cm long. Whilst this is great if you're using this product on the go with your laptop, but if you are installing this on your desk then the measly cable length is extremely limiting to where it can be placed. It would make more sense to have a USB-C port on the hub that would allow you to add your own cable of choice rather than a fixed one such as this. For this alone I'm dropping a couple of stars as it become far less useful for the purpose it's designed for, but overall as a hub I'm satisfied with the product.

Works ok but transfer speeds are appallingly slow.
I chose this as it had a slightly longer cable than most and I also liked the fact that it sits on desk with the ports angled slightly forward rather than lying flat to the desktop. I have other peripherals connected to the USB 3 ports on PC but had a spare USB-C port and wantd to add extra USB 3. In those regards it is fine and it was immediately recognized by Windows 10 pc.However, upon connecting an external USB 3 hard drive to one of the ports on the hub and starting to transfer large amounts of data it turned out to be shockingly slow. It was so slow I thought that there must have been some other problem with the PC or the hard drive but, after wasting time disconnecting other devices to free up a port and connecting the hard drive to a direct usb 3 port on the PC, I got transfer speeds about 25 times faster than through this hub. It really is that bad. Average speeds were about 7 mb/s which would have taken me 27 hours to transfer the files I needed to. Connected directly to the PC I did the transfer in just over an hour.If you just want to connect a mouse or printers then this is probably fine but otherwise it is unfit for purpose.

The green LED is pointless but otherwise OK
Surprisingly hefty solid utilitarian build quality. The green LED is pointless as LEDs simply add milliamp loads to the USB port it’s attached to, which doesn’t help if you’re using an IBM Model ‘M’ Keyboard, which already draws up to 129 mA.No complaints. Great value.Have gone on to buy a powered USB hub for the Keyboard anyhow, while this will be used to quadruple the stingy complement of USB 3.0 ports on my PC.That dark blue lump in the photo is is a USB to PS/2 adaptor incidentally. PS/2 is a proprietary (I think) connector used for keyboards and mice by IBM and Lenovo machines.Buy with confidence.

Nice product, shame on the awful plastic jiffy bag!
Nice looking device to go with a iMac. I liked the environmentally aware recyclable frustration free cardboard packaging for the device. Sadly though this was undone by the shocking plastic jiffy bag amazon appear to be using for smaller items recently. I cannot understand Amazon’s thinking to use plastic non recyclable jiffy bags which have to be sent to land fill. Very very poor of Amazon to be so conscientiously lacking.

Really good and very high quality!
I do really like how it's made out of aluminium instead of plastic. It does have quite a long cable which is good, so I could have it away from my computer. The wedge design is quite good as it means you don't have to move it around to place the USB device into it, like the horizontal ones. All ports are USB 3.1 which means very fast data transfer. It took me about 8 seconds to transfer a full 1080p 3gb video file onto a usb 3.1 external hard drive. The one thing I don't like about it is the LED, I find that a bit annoying but I will probably make peace with it. The price is a bit on the steep end but now looking at it, I would say its worth it if you want a high quality USB hub.
