So far so good. Can backup all media including 4k with an firmware update.

You know it's becoming harder and harder to find these external drives made by a company you know and can trust. I paid a little more, but it works as intended with no problems and I feel good about it

Works as expected. Mine came with the more “up do date” firmware that may require some libreboot magic, but for bluerays and dvds, no extra steps were necessary. I did have a little confusion using it at first, since the usb cable has a bifurcated usb-A end. One of the ends didn’t carry data signals, so the drive wouldn’t show up unless I used the other end.
