Bought this for our sliding door, was an easy install and works as it should

I have these in my house and could not find them at any hardware store including the big box hardware store where I originally bought mine. Found them here and received them within a couple days. Perfect. They are very secure locks. The lock on my sliding glass door is bad as are the replacements that only last a few months then they go bad again. Next to replacing the whole sliding glass door, very expensive, these are great replacements instead.

It works well. As some others have pointed out, there is insufficient clearance for the key to turn. I had to grind off the bottom of the key for it to turn properly. Also, the metal is a fairly fragile zinc alloy, After more than a year of use, I broke off the pedal by putting a little too much pressure on it with my foot. So I'm ordering another. It would have been nice if the pedal had been made of steel. One-year update: I broke another one. This time just using my hand to lock it. I'm buying another because I don't want to drill new holes!

The metal is quite soft and thin gauge.The key entry is very tight fit in relationship next to the door or window it is in installed on and makes it difficult to operate. Most importantly when you install the mechanism and tighten down the included mounting screws the metal casing collapses around the key slot and prevents it from turning and operating correctly.

Works well and easy to fit but did replace old broken lock of the same type.

This lock fit my patio door exactly from the one I installed 25 years ago. Exact same holes in same spot couldn’t have been a better replacement for the old one.

Didn't line up at all with identical previous lock. Screws didn't fit through holes properly. Heavy duty but garbage in my opinion.
