Cool white lights!
These lights are pretty well made, but with a few annoyances. The light strip itself is pretty simple with a 2 mm thick clear silicone layer over the electrical components and very sticky adhesive backing. My only complaint is that your have to strip the wires and then put the connector on yourself (I don’t have a wire stripper so have to fiddle with a knife). I don’t see any reason why this couldn’t have been done at the factory. Either way, once your get it connected, the light power on immediately once you plug them in. There is no remote to control the lights, so you need to either plug them into a switch controlled outlet, or manually plug them in/out when you want to turn them on or off. The light are quite bright, but the lack of a dimming function is unfortunate. These aren’t that customizable, but if you have a situation where you know you only need one brightness (very bright) then this may work in your scenario. A Top Quaity LED Light Strip For 100's Of Uses
The XHY DC12V SMD 5050 LED Light Strip Kit arrived on time in a nice protective bag inside the Amazon box; very well packed. In the package is the 5M LED light strip of 300 LED's on a spool, the 5A power supply and an adapter that allows the pos/neg wiring off the strip to be powered by the adapter. The strip can be cut to the size you need and while the wiring and powering of a multi-strip set up isn't a job for a child, it won't take a degree in Advanced Electronics either. I can think of tons of uses for these, home theater lighting ala' a movie theater isle for a short distance, general low light requirement needs, etc. I can see these powered by a cars electrical system and used for interior lighting very easily. I am going to use these in my little recording setup for a bit of ambient mood lighting and also their small size allows placement next to cramped equipment to help illuminate knobs and controls. The strip gives off a powerful amount of light, even if cut to 5 to 10 LED's the light thrown from these would still be impressive. Like any LED light the individual LED's can get slightly warm after being in use for long stretches, although it never becomes HOT or even close to it. As long as the LED's aren't smothered and given some ventilation the full strip of five meters at once wouldn't be a concern. Like any light or electrical device: common sense use and you'll be golden. The LED strip is well made and the included adapter is of good quality. I appreciate it's inclusion, as far too often electronics are sold without power supplies. The wiring is good quality and the overall feel of the strip is sleek and solid; no weird bumbs or dud LED's.I would highly recommend this LED light strip, especially at this price point. For the amount of LED's you get, a competent electronics tinkerer could wire up hundreds of different set ups and creative uses for this strip.[Disclaimer: Product was offered at a reduced price or complimentarily in consideration for a written review. One color only, doesnt stick too well but the light is very bright
This is my 6th set of LED strip lights. It's currently priced at 23$ with Prime available. That Would be a decent price if it had a remote with other colors on it, but since it's just white and there is no remote (you simply plug it in and it turns on), I believe its quite steep. All of the other sets of this same length that I've had were priced between 20 and 25 bucks and all of them had at least 10 shades to choose from. Not only that, they were also easier to set up (I will explain below). I've seen this same thing on Ebay and Amazon for between 10 and 15$.You get a roll of 300 LED lights, 5M in length (about 16.4ft), if this is your first time using these, you may want to look up a manual online as the package does not contain any kind of instructions, but its fairly self-explanatory.You get the wheel, power supply and "female adapter". The strip has wires sticking out of each end, I was somewhat confused at first, this is the only strip that I've had so far that didnt have a plastic tip at the end of the wires, to make it easier and SAFER when connecting it to the power supply. Not only it's quite hard to connect the wires and the adapter together, more importantly, when you plug it in and the light turns on, the other end gets EXTREMELY hot right away. The strip itself is just warm but the very tip of the wire, the metal part sticking out of it, is burning hot. I didnt realize this at first (dumb me, I know) and brushed against it with my elbow while taking pictures, let me tell you, I was horrified, so hot! No way you could keep this around kids or really anyone without securing the end of it so that the wires dont stick out.At 23 bucks, you would think they would bother taking care of that, at least put warning information sheet into the package. The fact that there is no "plug" at the end of the wires also makes it harder to connect two strips together (thats why there are wires on each end, so that you can connect it to another strip if you want to make it really long). You can cut the strip shorter with scissors or a sharp knife. Just make sure you cut on the right spot so you dont damage the rest of it, the intervals in which it can be split are every 3 LEDs.The strip is covered in silicone making it waterproof (obviously the power supply is NOT waterproof, just the strip itself). The power source is pretty heavy so you may want to start the strip from the floor as it would be hard to hang it by the ceiling, with the bulky supply hanging off it.The lights are supposed to last approx 80 thousand hours, the bulbs that is, not the hardware. I would say on a scale of one to sturdy (5), this would be about a 3.5 so I am going to assume the bulbs may last longer than the glue on the back of the strip or the power supply. The strip has adhesive on the back, you should be able to tape it to pretty much anything thats smooth and clean, for example along side corners of the room or on furniture. I tried just along side a door, the stickiness really isnt the best. So far i havent found a strip that wouldnt have that issue. No matter how hard you push it, after a while it will start peeling off on its ownOverall I'd say 2.5 stars for this one, I am going to round it up to 3 just because it IS very bright and does look very nice once you figure out how to put it together.I do recommend the seller or manufacturer adds a small manual into the box for people who havent used anything like this in the past, to make sure they put it together and/or cut it correctly.

Won't be using these.
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I expected to be able to plug these in and use them. That is not the case. They have two bare wires that you have to connect to the little adapter that then plugs into another adapter that will then finally go into the actual plug. I do not trust this type of electrical connections so will not use these. Sorry but I am very careful about electric plugs and this does not appear to be safe at all.
