Naturally, the photo shows 5 different board types. 4 of which look different and interesting with funky edges and contrasting wood grain colors and 1 that is a plain rectangle. Guess which one you receive... Don't get me wrong, you are warned when it says that they are all "unique", "authentic-looking" and "handcrafted, so each piece are (shouldn't that be is?) unique and may not look like each other." No, they are not. There are at least 3 tiny machine-drilled holes in my very plain machine-built-looking monotone board. Spend the same money and at least get a larger one that holds more meat and cheese.

Good , without a wood knife

A little pricey for what you get, considering it needs oiling/sealing and is a commercial product. However, if I bought this at a craft show from an artist who finished it I'd be very satisfied. It's very pretty for display and parties. Lovely wood grain on both the platter and knife, buttery smooth surfaces. Use the wood knife included or you'll ruin it. Has insect bore holes on outer edges from seasoned wood.Caveats? As others have noted, mine ran narrow. Definitely have to know how to maintain a good board properly for this to hold up. Mine also arrived smelling like rose perfume, incense or a candle. Nice, but not a wood scent. It requires a good wash and food-grade oiling before it can be used-- it feels like well-sanded raw wood. One edge is thin and promises to chip later if not oiled well. Packaging is minimal, so it may not arrive intact as a gift.When oiled, looking forward to using as a cheese or charcutterie plate, because it's otherwise beautiful.

The aesthetic and value is great. It’s a perfect hostess/host gift. It is on the small side (as seen in the picture). It could be used for one block of cheese and a few crackers. And the knife would only be useful for soft cheeses. Overall though, the wooden look fits my needs and i recommend it.

What I received was pretty much as advertised. A nice solid slice of olive tree with a nice little wooden knife. I have lived in Europe and purchased antiques with the little holes made by powder post beetles. I expected these in my antiques but was a little surprised to find them in the bark of this board. I saw no evidence of recent activity so I assume they are long gone. A nice coat of food grade mineral oil will make the handsome colors of the wood stand out nicely.

This cutting board is attractive, but the board I received is a bit small and can be used for prepping appetizers, a relish tray, or cheese slicing. But otherwise, it may be too small for larger prep work. These do come in varying sizes depending on the cut of the particular tree, as described. A good piece to show off on your counter-top.

I received a round of olive wood cut at an angle. Nothing fancy, but we’ll made and the bark was sanded down a bit so not sharp or loose. Not sure it’s worth the price but should be useful.
