These speakers have so very little power
I'm a DJ who was looking for a easy to set up portable line array speaker. I bought two of these, not to DJ an event with but for ceremony/cocktail hours only. 1 arrived and the other never did. Yes while they were a easy set up little portable line array, they lacked the power to event do ceremony, cocktail or dinner music at a low volume. The clipping light was on at any amount of volume being pushed thru the speaker and yes the manual did say that if the clipping light flashes to turn down the levels. Needless to say, I returned them ASAP (even though the one is still out in the either somewhere.)I know these wouldn't be gigable but I figured they would be acceptable for background music. They were not.

Not Pro Audio, Its basic Audio!.
Being in the sound business for a bit. There's a nitch for portability, this kind of product fits the bill and that's it. I knew going in, had no big expectations. The sound is Average or less. It fits the needs for social events like announcements, speech, auctions, art receptions, mixers, and Kid programs. Somewhere people need to converse! not compete with the music volume! --- That's the nitch!.. // PS...tons of EQ needed, Bluetooth is good for music. -EQ control off your cell phone. -Sure, plug in a mic to talk for modest crowds,- Tip,,,///--Position close to a corner or wall to find Bass...

A lot of speaker for the money
I was buying the Bose L1 and decided to give these a shot, for only 25% of the cost of the Bose and I could easily return it. The speaker sounds far better than it really has any right too. Is the Bose better? Yes, but IMHO, about 15% only though. The Bose is a tiny bit brighter, and I'm really not a fan of the Sound Town BT as it is really ONLY for playing MP3's and not for instruments as I hoped. The ad is really too vague about that. It comes with an exceptionally well made shoulder case for the tower, and a built-in handle for the bass. There isn't any tonal controls, but I run my guitars and mics through a mixer anyway, so that's not a problem. The bass is a high point of this system, as is the amazingly quick assembly. I could literally have it assembled/running in less than 20 seconds. So far I have to admit, this is one heck of a great deal ... I honestly wasn't expecting this level of sound and build quality. Can it be louder? Yes ... I'm considering drilling a port into the bass box for just a bit more punch. This isn't pro-audio, but certainly more than enough for a small venue. Also if it gets stolen, you're not going to be wringing your hands in anger over how much it costs compared to a Bose setup. I also own their larger model for bigger spaces, and it's louder with better high-end shine, but amazingly, weaker base than the 8" woofer model. And again, I'm planning on drilling into the bass cabinet and installing a tuned port. Then I suspect it'll be easily on par with anything from Bose. Either one of these will probably make 99% of the buyers happy ...

Great for small rooms
This PA is easy to carry and set up. The sound is great for smaller venues. Love that it comes with a case for the column pieces. I store the power cord in the case too. I use the effects to add a touch of reverb to the vocals too.

Get what you pay for.
Not mad about the price. I read some other reviews about how little bass this system put out and they are right. I paired the CARPO L1 with METIS 1800 Watt 15" Subwoofer that I already had and it worked well for my outdoor set. I did get some major distortion during a show, I may have to install a limiter to avoid this in the future. I have yet to have this problem with my Bose L1 Compacts, but the Bose did cost me almost 4 times as much.If you are looking for great sound quality it will cost more. The CARPO L1 will give you average quality and coverage. Pair this with a subwoofer if you need base, but that will definitely make it less portable. I put wheels on my METIS 15" to save my back some stress.I am satisfied enough with Sound Town to give the L2 a try. They may be a good addition to my outdoor set.
