The Super Saint
This book is a must read for all Christians. It will reveal to all the power and nature of God. It clarifies the mysteries of the bible, renews faith and shows that we too can be holy. Best of all St Gerard was and is a gift from God. We can call upon his name or place his image where there is pain and see miracles happen!

St Gerard is a very good read
St Gerard Majella really is a wonder worker. What a saint!! This man was practically a walking Christ! Extremely holy! More so than St Padre Pio from what I read in this book. I absolutely recommend the book. Every Catholic should know about this great Saint who didn't live all that long ago.

Life of an amazing saint, told by a very sappy writer
After reading about St. Gerard Majella, I think he is in the same rank as Padre Pio. No one who reads this book can forget him, and that makes it a very worthwhile read. However, I could barely stand the writing style, which is the dreadful, overblown, overstylized quasi-romantic style of about 175 years ago. If anyone has read the appallingly awful "Captivity of the Oatman Girls", be prepared - it could have been written by this writer's twin!

This is a book to keep through the years
I loved this book about St. Gerard. He is a wonder working super saint! Not just for expectant mothers, but for everyone. I have a relic of St. Gerard, and wanted to find out more about him, so I ordered this book, and I was not disappointed. One chapter a day, and a lot of prayers to the saint along with the relic made for a very spiritual retreat!

A life lived for Christ...
This book is fantastic....The life of Saint Gerard is amazing.....from the moment he was born, Saint Gerard was devoted to God. His life serves as an example to us all....He never committed a mortal sin or any sin whatsoever..!!! He was humble, obedient and saintly in every way possible. This book is very well written and explores his life from his birth to his death and cannonization, as well as the many miracles he commited during and after his lifetime....His mission in life was to convert as many people as he could to God..and to reconvert sinners who had divorced themselves from the church.. Towards the final chapter of this book, it deals with Saint Gerard's illness and death. He withstood the most unimaginable pain during his final month suffering from tuberculosis, yet never complained and asked only to suffer more for the love of God...This book brought tears to my eyes....l pray constantly to Saint Gerard, and hope that after reading this book many others will also....

Informative, but a very, very boring read...
The writing style in this book is so dry and choppy that it was very difficult for me to read even though I have always been very enthusiastic to read anything on St. Gerard {he is my confirmed saint}. If you want to know about his life, this book has the most material, but be ready for a flat read.
