Blue New Nintendo 3DS Case for New 3DS N3DS Aluminum Metal Crystal Case Protector Cover + Free Screen Protectors

It fits my New 3DS XL perfectly and is very beautiful, but the corner hinges that hold the top and bottom together broke off within days (and I am very careful with my 3DS, always keeping it in a case when not actively using it, so breakage was not expected). Without the corner hinges, the pieces don't stay on the device securely. I replaced it with a shell designed without corner hinges.

I love this case. Its exceptional. Looks great and fits super tight.Unfortunately, maybe a little *too* tight...If its misshapen AT ALL it wont lock into place on one side. Some other people have mentioned a similar problem.It fit pretty much perfectly and stayed on, but one corner of the top case didnt quite lock I to place as well as all the other edges.THE SOLUTION I came up with was to just GENTLY heat up that half of the shell and slip it on the 3ds while it was warm and - hopefully - a tiny bit expanded... more pliable. Then as it cooled off it stayed right where it was supposed to.Also after its spent so much time in that position, now it seeks to be permanently fixed in shape.So essentially I have zero complaints. 🙂

The case looks great, but the hinges broke under very light usage and now the top portion slides around. I really like the look of the case, I just think that if they go with a hingeless design, it would be perfect.Yes, the case does add a little bit of bulk to the overall system. Some people may not like this. For me, it actually makes the system more comfortable in my hand. It does add a little bit of weight as well since the case is made from both metal and plastic but it's not enough to cause concern. Any case will add some weight, this just adds a touch more.I'm actually going to try to see if the make this case in an updated design with no hinges. If they do, I will definitely buy it immediately.

Was a struggle to get on a first. Don't think I'll be removing it anytime soon.

It will protect your 3DS and make it look hella awesome. So far I havent noticed any major drawbacks of this except that it does get scratched fairly easy.

Awesome case. Love it. Sexy color. Only problem is the elbow connector points at the two pieces.Accidentally dropped once and they immediately broke. Now the top piece slides around.

Fits amazingly well, does its job, and its literally scratch resistant. I dropped my 3DS on tiles from a 3 food distance with this bad boy on and it left my 3DS untouched.

This case is made out of some of the thinnest plastic I have ever seen. Its only slightly thicker than a vinyl skin in my opinion. Other people have complained that the hinges break way to easily and I have to agree. The first thing I notice when I opened the package was that the hinge was broken. The "aluminum finish" is kinda lack luster. It feels like someone sanded the case down and then put a coat of purple paint on followed by a clear coat.I did start a claim to return the case and they were quick to reply, but they want me to pay the postage. Its right before Christmas and from what I can tell postage is going to cost me around $7. Not really sure if waiting in line at the post office is worth getting a whole $7 back.For anyone who wants a way to protect their 3ds and still wants it to be personalized I would suggest either looking for a different case or get a vinyl skin and put a clear case over it to protect the skin.
