My son loves this game!
I bought this game for my son as a graduating from kindergarten present. He wasn't thrilled to get it, since it looked like work, but once he started playing it, he didn't put it down all weekend. He reads at exactly a going into 1st grade level. This game is a little easy for that level, although I think it gets harder the further he goes. I like that it asks questions about what he's reading, since comprehension is something he is still learning, and he has to read the choices and choose the right answers. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to have many books in it and I think he'll finish the whole game in about a week. I might buy the first to second grade game later in the summer.

Pretty Good!
My 4yr old enjoys this game but doesn't play it as much as some of his other games. It gets a bit boring for him. The stories maybe need to be longer. However, I think it's a good game for them to learn to read. I would recommend it.

Not What I thought
I think this game is bad, it is not intended for the age group it suggests because it doesn't hold their attention long enough. The children get bored very quickly and want to do something else.

Fun for 6 hours?!?
My 4.5 year old son liked this game and continually wanted to play it... for 3 days. He got to play about 2 hours in total each day and on the 4th day he said it's boring now, because he was done.I checked his savegame and yes, he had read all the 5 books and got the 4 stars each.He had also earned all the prizes from the quizzes. Not sure if we're missing something, but that was a bit disappointing for the money.

Great addition to helping learn to read.
My 6 year old has been struggling with learning to read. I have tried quite a few things, but he always reverts to wanting to play his DS. So I figured we could try this out. Turns out, he loves it and I believe it is helping. He is completely interested, which is hard to say at this age.

Great product
My husband and I purchased this DS game for our 1st grader to help him with reading and spelling. We have found that even our 5 year old loves it too. Great DS game/learner. I hope that they make more for older kids too.
