Excellent two disc (CD + PAL/Region 0 DVD) collection from the British Pop/Ska band, released to coincide with their 30th Anniversary. Madness were the most successful and longest-running band to emerge from the British Ska/2-Tone movement in 1979 and, apart from a few years off for good behavior, the band are still going strong with the same exact line-up. The CD features 23 of their greatest singles plus a DVD that contains 22 of their classic (and hilarious) video clips. Includes the hits 'Our House', 'One Step Beyond', 'It Must Be Love', 'Baggy Trousers', 'NW5', 'Wings of a Dove' and many more. Salvo.

No brainer (if you can play PAL format)
If you know Madness, you know the songs here. Hell, you probably already have them on at least a few discs by now.If you love Madness you have seen most (if not all) of the videos here. Obviously, the videos on DVD are the real selling point to us fans. There are 2 minor quibbles here:1) the post-Stiff singles and videos from the 80's aren't here (not that big a loss, but...)2) the DVD is in PAL format which is okay in 1 of my DVD players, but not the other. To sum up: it's a real winner! If you haven't already done so, pick up the new one (The Liberty Of Norton Folgate) it's top notch.

Camden Town Nutty Boys!!!
The nutty boys at their best!If you like Madness you will like this. From their early One Step Beyond period to their catchy pop flavored fare, it's a treat through and through. The songs are great! The CD would be worth the price alone, but the DVD is the real treasure here. It's region 0 so most US and Canadian DVD players won't be able to play it. I have a blue ray disc player and it works just fine.If you like Madness this is a must have!Enjoy!

A good compendium of madness's best songs, and all their music videos
Madness. A joyous uplifting repertoire of their best, with their fun and smile provoking low budget videos. They capture an era that they themselves were part of defining, and somehow managed never to look self important or take themselves too seriously.2 discs, one CD of the music, one DVD of their famous videos.23 song on the CD, all the favourites and a couple more obscure ones (to me anyway). The videos are the classic mad cheap homegrown stuff. Some apparently very very low budget - eg Night Boat To Cairo, which is so obviously just a pile of builders sand with a low budget backdrop. And all the more fun and charming for it, which doubtless reflects how enjoyable the music is.A feelgood CD, excellent value with the included DVD.One star off for subjective reasons. Like all these best of CD's, the consistent similar style gradually start to grate and become wearing. 23 songs of Madness in one go is a bit much, you need something a bit different and soothing in between. But excellent for a party perhaps. The other negative to my mind, again probably only me, is the DVD. Each video is preceded by its title, just white text on black, for a few seconds and in silence. They feel like they should have some sort of introduction, perhaps some more information, perhaps the odd anecdote ('this is the video that x broke his finger in' or similar snippets, a little like you see on the TV with the old TOTP rerun compilations). As they stand, good though they are, it feels like something is missing.

excellent compilation
if you are already into madness, you probably won't need this compilation but if, like me, you need an introduction, this could be what you are looking for. i was never a big madness fan : i didn't dislike them nor did i particularly take much notice of them. my loss! a friend recently lent me "wonderful" - so i could listen to the track with ian dury! - and i enjoyed the whole album. as a result, i bought this collection and i loved it : this is witty, musical and intelligent stuff. the videos are nearly as good : very imaginative and amusing. i'm not a big fan of pop videos but these i thoroughly enjoyed. my only small niggle is that a lot of them seemed to have mono soundtracks. if you wonder what madness are all about, buy this CD/DVD set. for less than a tenner you get 23 tracks; that's good value even without the videos!

Excellent compilation of the very best Ska/ Two Tone bands that transcends pop genres
A great compilation of Madness hits. In the annals of music, there are excellent pop groups, but Madness have genius in the humour and real life observations of their lyrics. Timeless!

Doesn't matter what music you want to watch. Always buy the second hand one, the case is slightly damaged but who cares. It plays brilliantly.Well worth the money

I love Madness. I did at the time and now. Haven't listened to them in ages. This is a replacement for an old one that was damaged (by me?).Highly recommend for any Madness fan and with DVD included....
