It was pretty sharp when I got it. But I work the edge on it, and polished it, and that thing makes her razor blade looked stupid. I used it to cut out some pretty intricate leather parts.The edges were vertical.It was not hard to do it cut through eight ounces of leather. Haven't put it to use yet, but anticipate that it will get the job done when the time comes. The big question is will it hold an edge for a reasonable period of use on medium weight leather.

straight out of box, ran my fingernail along edge and found 2 knicks. don't know how this could've happened because packaging and merch did not look tampered with. blade manufacturer??

For the price... the quality and comfort of using this great tool. I wasn't familiar with the brand name of this skiving knife, and thought "what the heck" I'll give it a try. Needless to say, I'm beyond impressed. The edge is sharp straight out of the box and remains sharp. Light stopping once at the start of my day and it's skiving leather like butter effortlessly. I've since purchased many of their products and can't wait to see what's next. I have yet to receive anything that they make be sub-par. Look to the big names in leather craft if you like... Diudus has won my confidence.
