Small size folded up but large canopy!
I was looking for a collapsable umbrella that would be very small and fit in by backpack easily, but have a large canopy cover. Most umbrellas either are small when folded and have a very little cover, or have decent cover but are big when closed. I looked around and ordered this because it appeared to have a large cover but collapse to small size, and it really does fit the bill! Length is exactly 11.5" closed, and diameter of the cover is 36" when open. It easily fits in my backpack, and I'm confident it will keep me (and the backpack on my back) dry.I haven't used it in the wind, but no umbrella is really "wind-proof" and I really wouldn't expect any to be.Also, some people complain that its hard to collapse the handle when closing it - I find that putting it against the ground or a wall and pushing the handle in is the most effective the way to do it.Very happy with my purchase. It feels sturdy, and I hope its durable.

It's an umbrella, it stops the rain. What more are you asking for?
I don't understand the variable ratings here, it's an umbrella, so 5* it opens when I need it to and it stops the rain without any weird extras. 1* it doesn't open or opens and won't block the rain.I have had a good experience with this umbrella, it is heavier than the kind I would normally buy and then throw away rather than let it dry and reuse it, but its seems to be that the extra weight is in the build quality. Holds up strong and its nice to get in the car and zip the umbrella closed with the push of a button. No more fighting with a release button outside of the car and getting wet. Bought another for the wife and just ordered my 3rd to keep the car.

The best umbrella
As a Seattle residents we should have an arsenal of umbrellas, but we don't so I ordered this one to have in my bag when on the go. When I read the description and saw it was Teflon coated I scoffed, as that sounded ridiculous, but honestly it's the best umbrella ever! I used it the other day when I had to walk a way in the rain during a torrential downpour and once inside I shook it out and set it aside. When I picked it up a few minutes later I was astounded to realize it was almost dry. It even survived being pulled inside out during a wind gust and still works great. Sadly my son has taken it from me for his school backpack, so I will have to order another one.

Very good rugged and usable umbrella at modest price point
Enough has been written about this umbrella, but thought I would cast a quick thumbs up with a few tiny caveats: 1) the "retract" button only functions when the umbrella is fully open (you might get the impression it closes it all the way to compact size. It does not. I does require you draw the collapsed umbrella into the handle with a bit of force), 2) It's a bit on the heavier side 3) the extended handle/stalk seems a touch on the short side, as compared to other umbrellas I've used - maybe 20-22" above grip (see photo)Overall, a VERY sturdy product that has already passed the storm test on a few walks to the office downtown. Despite the minor gripes above, I would strongly recommend - especially at this price point

Compact but works very well
I absolutely love this umbrella! When I got to use it today for the first time I learned just how big it actually was when opened it can fit a max of four people under it but can also fit in any water bottle pocket in a backpack when closed. As I watched a very large number of other students umbrellas get messed up by the wind and rain I watched my stand the test of being "more stable than other umbrellas." I absolutely love the auto open/close feature; it's very efficient when going either outdoors into the rain or indoors away from the rain. I would 10/10 recommend it to any friend looking for a new umbrella.

Light weight. Strong and durable. Handles chicago winds like a champ
This is my honest, unfiltered opinion. No endorsements to disclose.I love this umbrella so much that when i lost the first one i ordered my second. Handles the rough downtown Chicago winds like a champ. If you catch a bad angle and it flips inside out, it corrects fast with a sturdy push pull without a hitch.- i love the collapsable button. Going onto the bus while its raining gives me no trouble and i feel bad for everyone fumbling with their umbrellas and get wet in the process.Highly recommend. If i lose this one ill be getting another.

Appears to be sturdy and made from quality materials
Its an umbrella.Smaller than I thought for some reason. Defiantly just for one person and to be honest on a really rainy day it won't do much but keep you from being soaked; you will still get wet though. Appears to be sturdy and made from quality materials, the opening and closing button works well. Small enough to fit in the side of the door or a handbag. Attractive to look at. I will not return but I will make an additional purchase because at 5'3 this still does not provide adequate coverage on the most average southern rainy day and it doesn't rain horribly bad here.
