Firstly these are good value, if you are in a rush or need a quick hit of coffee in the office without the need of getting the French press out.However, there is a design flaw with the individual packets of bags, on several occasions when opening the foil bag I accidentally ripped the coffee bag itself, the foil bag needs to be slightly bigger or the coffee bag slightly smaller. That said when I realized this, there is a specific way of opening the foil bags without ripping but it's not ideal.Secondly, the coffee is ok, just needs a long time to brew, its quite a mild taste, and when compared to the Taylors where the taste is good, these need a little more kick.

There are best drunk as black coffee. If using a mug of 300ml, fill to 200ml and leave the bag in the mug. As the liquid cools, gently press the bag but leave it in the mug even when drinking the coffee. It stays at the bottom of the mug so doesn't get in the way.I've been drinking these bags for ages but Waitrose seems to have stopped selling them, hence looking here. Where I find them at a good price, just a smidgen lower than the big W's. If you must have white coffee, use a spoonful of dried milk and resist the temptation to have another straight into the mouth where it will form a gluey, milky solid that can become addictive.

I like these Lyon's individually wrapped coffee bags for a convenient 'proper' coffee whilst I've been working from home. I've tried several varieties and the Perkadilly are my favourite of the lot. Nice aroma and a sharp, roasted kick. One is never enough.

You can't always take fresh coffee with you, and who can stand that instant stuff? This is my fallback for when I am travelling, and also what I use if I just want to make a quick coffee.
