Take Three Colours: Watercolour Mountains

I love Matthew Palmer's work. This latest book is brilliant - all you need is 3 paints, 3 brushes . a watercolour palette and watercolour paper ( I use Matthew's paper) The 9 exercises are very simple and easy to follow with step by step photos - perfect for beginners. There are lots of 'jargon busters' and tips. Everything you could wish for to produce lovely mountain and lake paintings.

Ich habe mir aus dieser Reihe mehrere Bücher zugelegt, die jeweils bestimmte Themen behandeln (Berge, Strand, Wasser, ...). Als Anfänger in Sachen Aquarell ist es für mich wichtig, die Techniken zu erlernen, die man beherrschen sollte, wenn das Bild so halbwegs ansehnlich werden sollte. Mit diesen Büchern lernt man sehr gut und erzielt auch als Anfänger recht ansehnliche Resultate, was ja dann zum Weitermachen beflügelt! Man kann den einzelnen Schritten sehr gut folgen und dann später mutiger werden und einiges ein bisschen abwandeln. Ich kann diese Buchserie nur empfehlen, vielen Dank!

Great! I live near mountains so this book is very helpful in learning to paint mountains in watercolor

I’ve always wanted to learn watercolor but I found a lot of the “beginner” books to be very frustrating. They all seemed to explain the basics and then dive into very difficult projects. It’s the equivalent of saying “here’s the alphabet and now that you have everything you need, here’s War and Peace.” So when I found the Take Three Colours series, I was very happy to find something that truly starts with the basics. I’ve already worked through the first three books in the series, and I was elated to see that Matthew Palmer wrote the fourth one. I had already worked through a couple of his instructional videos on The Painting and Drawing channel on Youtube and he’s really a great teacher. I peordered this book and was happy that Amazon delivered it the day it was released. I’m very pleased with the content in this book. I have probably 20 books on watercolor, but if someone asked me for a recommendation on where to start with watercolor, I’d pull this series off the shelf and hand it to them. My only criticism is that I wish it was spiral bound so that I could lay it flat, but content-wise it’s perfect. Now that I’ve gone through these books, I feel like I’m ready to tackle harder stuff. Had I not found this series, I probably would have given up.

THIS BOOK IS VERY HELPFUL AND EASY TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. tHE DETAILSON BLENDING COLORS TO MAKE ASNOTHER COLOR AREVERY CLEAR AND HELPFUL. I HAD USED THE 3 COLOR 3 BRUSH BOOK FOR SEASCAPES AND WAS HAPPY WITH IT. I ORDERED THISBOOK AND WAS EQUALITY PLEASED.
