One day it just decided to spin the fan so hard I was amazed of the noise that came off it
I had not so pleasant experience with this box. It worked sort of Ok for a year or so. One day it just decided to spin the fan so hard I was amazed of the noise that came off it, then it shut itself down. Thenceforth, it would not power and stay for more than 15 minutes the next things is that it shuts itself down with "Thermal Tripping" error which which was an indication of overheating. I called Intel, they send me details how to send it back for Warrant replacement. But I missed the fact that they asked me to remove accessories which actually included opening the case and take out the SSD and RAM. So, anyway replacement arrived but does not power up only green light blinking. When I contacted Intel they say or there could no RAM, I should install the RAM and SSD from the older. This was such heart breaking news. Long story short, I have lost 1TB SSD and 32Gb RAM. It is such a terrible setup, how does intel expect every end user will have the knowledge or skills to open the thing and take out the guts? So, anyway if you have and encounter a problem and that you need warranty replacement, be aware of this. Thanks!

Worth the money
Very small and very vast. Makes a great compact PC so you don't wast space and power. Great for attaching behind the monitor with only key board and mouse left on the desk top

Not bad, understand
Overall, disappointing performance. Not bad, understand, but not the tremendous speed increase over my other PCs over 1 year old. Tests done through PassMark Performance Tests, which is a market standard. Also, some Windows 10 native apps not working on a clean install. No customer support for Intel NUC, except self-help website, but issues not covered. For the expense, cost/benefit ration does not seem good. Returned product.

Powerful and silent
I've got this little unit configured with 32MB ram and a 1TB SSD - I use it primarily for Adobe CC work - a lot of premiere/video and it rocks. I got a 32" Dell 4K monitor and everything works seamlessly. I'm a Mac user and this is my first PC in a while - it blows my iMac (it's a little long in the tooth) out of the water. Couldn't be happier. I'm using Logitech keyboard and mouse with the USB wireless - I can't stand Bluetooth - but I have BT headphones (beats) and they connect seamlessly. The NUC is silent except a little fan sound on startup and occasionally during heavy processing but it's nothing. I haven't ramped up any games on this yet but my guess is that they would be great. Very happy. The first review on the Amazon page about the guy who is stumped because this came without RAM or SSD seems odd - it doesn't take brain surgery to know that you need to spec those - and my NUC came configured and ready to go out of the box. Highly recommend.

Why cant we get with all required things?
I was not told anywhere that I need to buy the RAM and hard disk separately even the OS and nowhere mentioned what size of RAM or SSD stick needed for this. I do not find specified RAM DDR4 in any of the stores BestBuy or Frys. Why should I bother too much about assembling the things? Why can't they sell it with built-in RAM and SSD? Most of the reviews also misleading by saying "You just need keyboard and monitors. You got the powerful machine !". God, knows how powerful it is but I find it very difficult to assemble it and make it work. Just returning it as I cannot bang my head all overnight to trubleshoot this.

Worth owning a highly portable powerhouse
good product...working smoothly..tidy to carry the powerhouse anywhere. connect to wifi and work on this taking RDP...if you want to work independently on this device, please carry the following(a) Bluetooth / wireless keyboard & mouse.(b) HDMI cable for video outensure you have some display device which supports HDMI

I LIKE IT!
Love this little thing. I have a thing about running distributed computing projects all just about all my machines and this hyperthread Intel NUC is humming away without over-heating. Also kind of fun having this little box running a 34” monitor.

this kind of tech is not ready yet. la lacking a lot GEFORCE GTX 1080-TI 12Gigs GDDR 5 and you will neeed 6 M2 SSD drive slots
no internal dvd or Blu-ray drive. The CPU clock speed is too slow. I tested Windows 10 is a crash and burn drama. cannot install windows 7 or 10 with out a internal DVD or BLU-RAY DRIVE. The number of storage drive ports is not enough. M2 SSD are very expensive when you get Samsung 950 pro that dose not have 1T. it looks like its made for gamers. so why is missing GTX 1080Ti 12Gigs GDDR5? Come on there Put it in there..it will be nice to have 6 of the M2 SSD drive slots. Better off buying a 17" Sager Gaming notebook. There is more options there to mod with and everything is there including a 17" monitor
