UEi Test InstrumentsDL389B True RMS Dual Display Clamp Meter

I bought the meter in late summer and after many recommendations from coworkers. As soon as colder temps started here in NH I was having issues with the meter reading voltage. Being a Commerical HVAC tech I spend most of my day on the roof. When the meter is cold it will read wrong voltage or no voltage but when I test with my fluke I’ll read properly. I reached out to UEI directly and they told me the meter only operates as low as 32 degrees. I told them out of the six guys at our shop with the same meter mine is the only one doing it. They test the meter down to -50 degrees they said so I sent it in for service. They told me there is no issue with the meter just keep it warmer. So now I have a new meter that only works in the summer and I’m back to my 12 yr old fluke till I buy a new fluke.

I love this meter! I will never have another meter that doesn’t have a magnet built in to the back, o am sparky so I don’t necessarily “need” the dual screen readout but I do use on occasion

Mostly like the auto range detect, and continuity tone. Voltage detector can come in handy as well. There are youtube videos out there that do a good job of going through the features and use. Just wish there was a way to test capacitors 'in-circuit', but I don't think most meters can do that anyway.

Cheap Chinese crap DO NOT BUY! this is the second multimeter I purchased on amazon; total crap!
