Make sure the length is right.
The shifter cable was not long enough to reach my rear derailleur. Housing looks nice but has a smaller diameter than most so it’s a little loose wheee it fits into the frame butts.

I replaced the shifter cable with this cable using the existing housing. This is a great clean and smooth cable that just works.
