Paradigm Cinema 70 CT 5.1 Home Theater Surround Sound System (Black) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

It would have been nice to know I needed speaker wire. Now I have to make a special trip in to get some! That's an important detail to leave out in my opinion.

I've been using these with my yamaha V477 and they sound great. I have a good sized living room and no towers to go with- set these on surround and can blow the windows out. Sub sounds incredible.

Loving the speakers and unbelievably quick delivery.

First and foremost I would like to mention that I did not purchase this speaker set from Amazon.com. It is my opinion that a purchase such as this should be made directly at a retailer, or so heavily researched by personal visits to your electronic store of choice to justify purchasing this item through an online retailer. I am in NJ and went to Six Ave after going to Electronic Expo and Best Buy. I bought these same set for $465. The Six Ave salesperson gave me the live demo and his manager lower the price went I told them I was going back to best buy to pick up a set I saw there (I also bought a Yamaha Receiver and two 42 inch TVs so maybe that also influenced his decision in lowering my price).What I used:I bought two of these wall mounts the same day of purchase at the retailer mentioned afore:  Omnimount Speaker Mount (Black) (STEELBLACK) I bought a pair of these: Paradigm LS-30 Floorstanding Speaker Stands (Pair, Black) Bought some wire: Monster XPHPCIBIG100 100 Feet Speaker Cable And a subwoofer cable: Monster Standard THX-Certified Subwoofer Interconnect Cable (16 Ft) The install:The installation was very easy and depends on how handy you are. I put two speakers (the right and left back) high on my wall using the wall mounts. I then placed the channel or center speaker in the bottom shelve closest to my TV. Then I installed the front right and left speakers on the two floor stands (these should be at sitting ear level). Wired all speakers using the speaker cable (TIP: 100ft is really 50feet of positive and 50 feet negative cable). I put my subwoofer by the front right corner of the living room, not too far from the front right speaker.The experience:Please keep in mind that that the quality and power of your receiver is the single most important factor in your surround sounds system setup. I am using:  Yamaha RX-V565BL 630 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver The speaker set is incredibly powerful and crisp clear. Zero distortion and muffled sounds and most importantly no humming when the receiver is on. My living room has very high ceilings and is about 20 by 22 feet and I can hear everything. Again my receiver has an auto calibration feature that measures how far the speakers are from each other and where I am sitting to adjust the power it outputs to each unit.PS3: Having surround sound definitely helps getting into the video games. I know a lot depends on the title you are playing but take Uncharted 2 for example. I could hear the birds chirping in jungle scenes through my rear speakers and hear the main character through the channel and front speakers vividly. Mix that with Uncharted's unparallel scenes and the experience was just remarkable to say the least.With Blu-rays it truly feels like I am at the movie theater. No need to go out to watch movies anymore with these speakers.Conclusion: The quality and performance of these speakers at relative low price to others make them truly a great value. They enhance the viewing and listening experience of your media. I would recommend them. Next on my shopping list is buying two towers to complete my 7 channel surround sounds and yes you guessed they will most certainly be Paradigm.

I bought this in Amazon sale for $300 . Its a stealing deal for this price. When combined with Yamaha RX-V765, its performance is amazing. sub woofer is tight and great. slightly boomy for some songs .Performance: I have PS3 and watched Avatar blue ray with DTS HD-Master audio. Sound produced from these speakers were amazing.Yamaha did a good job in auto calibration after which the performance increased a lot.Size: size is little bit bigger than what i expected and each satellite speaker is 3 lb. Since i will be moving out of US soon, i expected to be little bit smaller.Appearance, Appearance is good but not great. Finishing could have been done better. In short, these are great speakers with great sub woofer for the price ( $300 ). my room is 20 X 16 and it fills the room very easily.

The speakers were installed by a professional AV technician, they worked great for 3 months then the Subwoofer just stopped working one day for no reason. When I contacted them to see if they would send a replacement or take mine in for service, they refused. It's too bad because this is my third Paradigm system and I've been a huge fan of Paradigm until this incident. Customer service is not on par with other vendors. I suggest you purchase a different brand, or from someone who will replace/service their own equipment.
