Works Great! Just bought another one!
I bought the first one last fall to put in a cellar window screen for our ferral outside cats. It took awhile to convince one of the really tame ones to go inside, but now he is in all the time. One of the others followed him, and now goes through all the time also. I purchased another one to put outside my screenhouse in the summer, as all the cats like to sleep in there. Hopefully they will get used to using the door in the summer, and go into the celler one in the winter to stay warm. The door is sturdy with the magnetic lock which closes after the cat goes through to keep out the cold. Really easy to install in the screen. I wouldnt follow the template they give to make the hole in the screen, just cut out around the rectangular opening, it makes it more secure.

installed in a window
We installed this in a board and put the board into a partially open window so the kitties could access their "catio" (yes, that's right).Works well and was easy to install (we didn't use the template to cut the hole because we didn't trust the sizing). Seems to keep weather & bugs out, so we're happy about that. Can't think of any problems, other than it was a little confusing to figure out how to lock it (that may just be us!) The size of the door seems perfect for our average sized cats (10-12 lbs I think). Also, just a note on the design: our cat was really hesitant to use it after the first time because the door, which is a thick and somewhat heavy plastic, falls rather quickly back to closed position, and it always seems to pinch the tip of her tail. She may just not be smart enough to move out of the way fast enough, but I can see the benefit of the doors that have a rubber/soft plastic door instead of this rather hard material. Small issue though, and hasn't stopped her from going in and out, she just looks a little perturbed each time her tail gets nipped by the door as it swings shut.

Great door, for the garage!
All the cat doors I'd found had been too thick to place in my actual garage door, since it's metal. So I bought this glass one, knowing glass is also thin, and cut a circle in the metal. Works great!!! Now if only my cat will actually use it... Oh, and the door stays closed when I raise the door, so I don't have to worry about it flipping out and hitting my antenna or something. The magnet is strong enough to hold the door closed horizontally, but not so strong that the cat can't get out.

Not so good on a screen door.
I wanted a cat door to put on my sliding screen door for the newly enclosed small deck. I bought this after reading all the reviews, compared others, etc. I followed the other reviewers suggestions about not cutting the template they provide, etc. First let me say that the product itself is high quality and works nicely.Second, this really should not be sold for mounting on screen material. The cat door is pretty heavy and thick. After adding shims to the sides, duct tape, and moving it down so that it used the bottom part of the screen door for stability, I got it to work... sort of.One of the features of this door is a very STRONG magnet that keeps it closed, well if you have cats that aren't used to hard plastic swinging doors, this is not the beginner door for them. One of my cats got their paw stuck in the door. It took forever and a lot of interesting tools to remove the VERY strong magnet. Unfortunately for us, our cats still got paws stuck in the door, so off with the swinging door. They now have a piece of fabric over the opening. *sigh*I share all this, because if you are trying to do something nice for your indoor cats, who never go outside, who never used a cat door in their lives, this is not the cat door to use.I give this 4 stars, because for the right application and the right cats or small dog, this door is very well made and would work great in all weathers.

Install was easy. Had to push our cat through the door ...
I installed pet resistant screen in my sliding patio door and installed the cat door. Install was easy. Had to push our cat through the door a few times until he got the hang of it. He loves the freedom to come and go at will. I like not having to keep the screen open or always be on the look out for him. Good product and works great.

An easy-to-install and sturdy cat door.
I wondered if the screen in the window would be strong enough to support this cat door, especially when I took it out of the box- it seems sturdy and heavy.I followed the instructions given by the other reviewers' and made sure the hole was just large enough for the flip door to open, giving it that much more support under the frame. There is no sag in the screen, even now a few months later. It is a relatively narrow bedroom screen window, but I don't think that would matter- this design is good. The only thing that I did not think about was that the door is magnetic close, and boy does that magnet work to keep it closed. My cat is feral and she won't push on the door, though she does on the regular cat door we have- the kind with the vinyl flap.

Perfect for a Thin Metal Garage Door
This worked perfectly for my application. We installed it in a thin metal garage door. The big door that you drive under.....not the door to the house. Standard cat doors would require a wood frame around it but this was designed for glass so it fit perfectly with no gap. I got lucky finding this and it's been functioning perfectly for a few months now. The cats love it and it keeps them from getting locked in the garage.

So much less obtrusive and better looking than the pet doors made for sliding glass ...
This pet door takes a beating with 4 cats but it holds up for over 10 years! I only bought another one because I found they were hard to find and wanted a replacement. We installed it in a window from the family room to the lanai and it saves us a lot of time getting up and letting the cats in or out. We replaced the glass with plexiglass which can then be cut to make the required opening. So much less obtrusive and better looking than the pet doors made for sliding glass doors!
