Ok hopefully it still works if I ever need it again
It detected the leak! Made cheaply even knowing it is a cheap low end model. But it may last 4ever only time will tell.

It works and a great value!
It works very well! I was able to determine if I needed a new coil and condenser because it detected a lot of leaks.

Good value, despite a learning curve
Bought this detector to find an AC leak in my truck. This detector takes some getting used to the sensitivity adjustment as any dispersed halogen in the air can make pinpointing the leak difficult - made me chase ghosts. In my case, I was hoping that his detector would lead me right to the leak, but I could not detect it. The fluorescent dye is the more definitive method to troubleshoot automotive AC leaks. The provided UV LED light is rather weak and depends more on a dark environment. I had a different handheld UV LED light that flooded the entire engine compartment where the one on the detector was very inferior and not needed. I wound up buying the UV dye and shelving the detector. I may use it as a second opinion once I find evidence of leaking UV dye.

Cheap, but it works
Worked well enough to pinpoint a refrigerant leak at the expansion valve on a Nissan Altima.

Surprised
For a 25.00 detector it's very accurate. Used on two cars so far and found leaks in minutes.
