Works as expected, confirmed heat with thermometer
The pads instantly rise in temperate. Confirmed from first power up with a laser thermometer. To power the unit on to the first heat setting, the button must be held. There is a negative review that was insightful because the reason the product wasn't powering on was operator error. This is a simple device, my unit works 100 percent at time of receipt. Mocked up a jacket mounting the pads with gaff tape and I can feel the heat as I would expect. Using a 2.5 amp plug on a battery pack with internal 18650 batteries. I am posting this review for those that might be on the fence due to the negative reviews. I know my battery type and used a laser thermometer. It works, feels good in the jacket. Can't speak to the battery life, but if the draw is listed, I can figure that out with the math. These are likely the exact pads used in textiles that are 100$ plus. An old jacket, owned power supply and 10$ and I have the same thing with a little effort.

Game Changer!!! then sadly ut oh!
I am not sure why this has gotten any bad ratings, I love this thing! I was just about to purchase two heated jackets when my troubled mind kept asking what makes them heat? Then I found this! Wow! This thing gives off tremendous heat and like another buyer said, I duct taped it in at first and now I just tuck it. The power bank is important. I bought 4, two 36,800 watts which last all night on the medium setting. And two 20,000 watts which last about 4 hours on the same setting. Goodbye expensive gas bills, hello to heat!Update: I purchased 4 units and used three. The three that I used now won't stay on more than a few seconds. I am returning for 4 units and will give them a try or ask for a refund. I really wanted these to work. I will give an update on the new units.

It’s not hot
How do I put this? You know when you get in the shower and expect it to be hot, well this is luke warm at best.Riding a motorcycle in the cold/ winter. I can tell you that it works but do not expect it to be hot. It’s actually enough to keep me warm, ran it through my jacket (loosely so I can move it) and ran one pad down into my gloves. My hands are always the first to get cold but they do not get cold with the pads.3 stars at best. They used heat shrink wrap on the wiring, exposed heat shrink wrap on the outside of a product is laziness more so on the connector.Advice: do not put the pad on your skin, you need a layer of fabric that absorbs heat then wear a wool sweater on the outside over top of the pads to contain the heat. Wool is not a good conductor of heat so it doesn’t pull that heat from your body and will help you contain it inside. The reason you want fabric in between the heat pad and skin is only because the fabric will absorb the heat and it will spread through that area. When you put it directly on the skin your skin aborbs it, your body adapts to its heat and you do not feel it. You won’t notice it at all. On a layer of fabric it moves as you move, it shifts heat and you feel it each time you move it also helps create friction.

Barely Warm
I bought these for a slightly unconventional purpose - to keep airsoft green gas magazines warm. Unfortunately, these aren't near enough to keep them warm in 40 degree weather.Even with my hands basically frozen, these were barely noticeably warm on the highest setting.I did my testing with a 2 amp battery bank.

Trash
Got this for my dog I have a small yorkie. I thought this might help to keep her warm after we walk because she gets wet in morning from the grass. They wouldn’t even warm up . I took a chance for 2.00 but pass on these . Horrible
