Mastering Landscape Photography

This is by far the clearest and most informative book I've read on photographing landscapes. It's well-organized and succinct, but there is a wealth of information here. If you want just one book on landscape photography, I'd say this is the one.

This is an excellent book that teaches the essential techniques and principles of landscape photography. I took photography in high school and as far as I am concerned, this book certainly helped me build upon my knowledge and become a better photographer. I would say that you should have at least a basic grasp of photography before reading this book, but if you are really interested in landscape photography and already know the basics, this is for you.

This book has too few pages. The author does not go into details of landscape photography. The title is indeed misleading! How can one "MASTER" landscape photography in fewer than 200 pages?

I expected this to be a book about landscape photography rather than a beginner's book that explains the difference between prime and zoom lenses, raw and jpeg files, and how to set up a tripod. (And there's even a tip about booking a hotel so you can get to where you want to go early enough. Seriously.)Yes, there is some good information about using filters - important to landscape photography - but very little about composition, which is probably what most would-be landscape photographers need to learn about. If you're a total beginner, this book will help; if not, find something else.

This is a well planned and excellent read for anyone wanting to explore landscape photography and I would heartily recommend this book for beginners and veterans alike. The book covered the basics of photography, what you need and when you need it and then went on to explore the more advanced settings and how to incorporate these into your normal routine when out and about. All the information shown is made clear with very good photographic examples which clarify the results and, although I do not class myself as a beginner, I still learned a great deal from this well structured book. I am sure it will be useful as a reference guide book for many years.
